Brody Jackson Schleuger

Brody Jackson Schleuger, 17, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 8, 2026. Born on August 20, 2008, to Todd Schleuger and Sarah Overbaugh, Brody lived every day with an adventurous spirit, a fearless heart, and a smile that made people feel welcome.

Brody was the kind of person who embraced life without hesitation. Whether trying something new, chasing his next idea, or simply spending time with the people he loved, he approached everything with enthusiasm and confidence. He was known for his infectious smile, easygoing personality, and ability to make friends wherever he went. His loyalty, kindness, and genuine nature left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

A student at Staley High School, Brody enjoyed playing basketball, spending countless hours with his many friends, and hanging out with his beloved dog, Milo. He had an exceptional work ethic and an entrepreneurial mindset well beyond his years, always finding creative ways to earn money to support the things he enjoyed. His ambition, resourcefulness, and determination reflected the bright future so many could already see ahead of him.

Above all, Brody cherished the relationships in his life. He brought energy, laughter, and adventure to every gathering, and his presence made ordinary moments unforgettable. Though his time on earth was far too short, the memories he created and the joy he shared will remain with those who loved him forever.

Brody is survived by his loving parents, Todd Schleuger and Sarah Overbaugh; his devoted grandparents, Robert Schleuger, Robert Overbaugh, and Emma Bennett; his uncle and aunt, Mathew Overbaugh and Sarah; and his four beloved cousins, Madeline, Eliza, Elizabeth, and Matilda. He also leaves behind countless friends whose lives were enriched by his friendship, generosity, and unwavering smile.

A visitation was held on Sunday, July 12, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Amos Family Funeral Home, 10901 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, Kansas. A graveside service was held on Monday, July 13, at 11:00 a.m. at Terrace Park Funeral Home & Cemetery, 801 NW 108th Street, Kansas City, Missouri.
