Zhaohui Shan

Zhaohui Shan was born in 1968 in Shenyang, China. He graduated from Zhejiang University in 1990 with his bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1993, Institute of Metal Research, and his PhD from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 1997. He immigrated with his family to the United States in 1999, and worked in a variety of engineering roles, primarily in materials engineering. On 11/12/2021, after 7 months of fighting with advanced Lymphoma, he passed away peacefully to be with our Lord and savior. Zhaohui (or Joe) is survived by his father; his wife Wei Chen; his children, Jason and Katelyn, and his brother, Donghui Shan. Zhaohui was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He will be forever remembered as someone who was full of love and warmth, welcoming everyone into his life with open arms. In his mind, there was nothing he could not do once he put his mind to it. Since his baptism in 2007, he was a great friend of the church; someone who loved the Lord, loved his brothers and sisters, and served diligently in whatever his calling was. In his free time, he loved to run and to participate in sports. He will be deeply missed by all his family, friends, and coworkers, but his spirit will always be with us.

单朝晖，1968年生于中国沈阳。 1990年浙江大学本科毕业， 1993年中国科学院金属研究所硕士毕业，1997年香港科技大学博士毕业。1999 年来美国后从事各种工程工作，主要从事材料工程。 2021 年 11 月 12 日，在与晚期淋巴癌抗争 7 个月后，于2021年11月12号安息于主怀。 朝晖身后留下父亲，妻子陈威，孩子泓蓁和泓帆，以及他的弟弟单东辉。 朝晖是一个非常称职的好丈夫、父亲、儿子、兄弟，是一个充满爱和温暖的人，是一个乐于助人的好朋友， 也是一个意志坚强的人， 只要是下定决心，没有什么事情是做不到的。自2007年受洗以来，他热爱主，热爱他的兄弟姐妹，热心于教会的服侍。在空闲时间，他喜欢跑步和参加体育运动。他的所有的家人、朋友和同事都会深深怀念他，他的精神将永远与我们同在。
