I too remember working with “Zed” at Central TSB more than 40 years ago, I also remember his mum (Naseem I think, who worked as a secretary) coming down from the top floor and chatting to him. I do recall him sharing a recipe for a Singapore Sling cocktail I believe his dad had passed down to him, very tasty I believe. I am sad to hear of his passing and send my thoughts to Ben and all his family and friends.

Zaid as 'Sir Toppem hat' the fat controller from Thomas the tank engine from our son's first birthday. Wish we could find some wedding pics, just moved and they are buried :( Some great memories and laughs from the 90's that will always stay with us.... Sad times.

Worked with Z at CTSB, and even shared a flat with him briefly. He was fun and a massive flurt. Was so sorry to hear of his passing. Condolences to his family and all that knew him. He will be greatly missed. RIP Z. ❤️

I don’t have a lot of digital pix…(our childhoods predate the cellphone generation) and my analog pix are a mess. But I did find a few and added a couple pix of Naseem and Nat…. And a young Ben. We did a lot of partying when he visited us in the teen years resulting in at least one face plat into an ivy bed , which I’m sure he appreciates didn’t get committed to film. Zaid was a sweet soul, who loved sunny California and promised he would move here one day and live in Hawaiian shirts. Though banking treated him well… he had no great love of the job and fantasized about many more creative entrepreneurial pursuits and he gave many a shot when his bank closure left him no choice. Though none yielded any great financial success, I’m glad he had the chance to explore them. He was a real animal lover and ended his professional life working with them which brought him more joy than the humans he worked for… so there is that. I will miss his laughter, his dirty jokes and our political rants. I can imagine what he would say about the latest madness! I hope wherever you are, you are rejoined with your mom and dad, enjoying a nice scotch…. Cheers Cousin
