In Loving Memory of Yiessika Marie Vreeken-Jorgensen October 23, 1981 — September 16, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Yiessika Marie Vreeken-Jorgensen, a cherished mother, former wife, and beloved friend, who left us on September 16, 2025, in Fresno, California. Born in Narvik, Norway, on October 23, 1981, Yiessika was a vibrant force in the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Yiessika was the daughter of Bjorn Jorgensen and Linda Vreeken, both of whom have preceded her in death. She was shaped by the love and values instilled by her parents, which she carried throughout her life. She is survived by her former husband, Jorge Contreras, and their four cherished children: Isabella, Alexander, Nikola, and Hector. Her deep love for her children was evident in everything she did, and they were her pride and joy.
Her early education began at Banktrollet Barnehage in Norway before she completed her schooling at Ventura High School in California. A dedicated student, Yiessika excelled in the Junior ROTC program, earning honors for her leadership skills, which showcased her determination and resilience from a young age.
Throughout her life, she pursued various careers, demonstrating her versatility and strength. Yiessika worked as a transmission repair specialist, an exotic dancer, a fabrication welder, an automotive welder, and a weld inspector. Her journey was not without challenges; she retired at the age of 40 due to a medical injury but faced this change with courage and grace.
Yiessika was not only a remarkable professional but also deeply committed to her community. She was a founding member of the Citizens for Political Accountability organization in California's 13th district, reflecting her dedication to civic engagement. Additionally, she was a benefactor for LOVE Inc. in Tulare County and Valley Children's Hospital, always striving to make a difference in the lives of others. Her memberships in the California Apartment Associations and California Landlord Associations demonstrated her commitment to her professional community.
A lover of physical activity and the outdoors, Yiessika was a former youth swim champion in California and qualified for the FIS Junior Nordic Ski World in Norway. She maintained a lifelong passion for fitness, finding joy in her Bowflex, which had been a source of pride since she was very young. Her personality was complex; she could be aggressive and often reclusive, but her caring nature and protective instincts made her a loyal friend. She embodied the spirit of a nurturing parent, always looking out for those she loved.
Yiessika's life, though sadly cut short due to a subarachnoid hemorrhage( brain aneurysm ) after receiving two hip replacements following a drunk driving accident where she was struck while walking, was one of profound impact. Upon her passing, she generously left behind a secure financial legacy for her family, ensuring that all medical and funeral expenses were also covered. In light of her wishes, the family has requested that no donations be made.
A private funeral service will be held to honor Yiessika's memory, where family and close friends will gather to celebrate a life that was both vibrant and filled with love. In her spirit, we encourage all who knew her to remember the joy she brought into their lives.
Rest in peace, dear Yiessika. Your legacy will forever shine in the hearts of those you loved and who loved you.
