Todd Gerrard
Among the greatest of greats, Todd was a father, a son, a friend, a role model, an inspiration and most of all, Todd was Todd.
Those close to Todd knew he had a heart of gold and a mind for adventure. Todd demanded the most from life and through his journey brought out the most in others. Todd will be remembered as the one who was not beaten by life, nor the one who beat it, rather the man who enjoyed playing along until the very end.
Todd's legacy will live forever, etched into the minds and hearts of family, friends and all who were gifted with his time. Todd's achievements and experiences will be a reminder of the wealth of his life, yet show a fraction of his character, a character of immeasurable volume. Todd walked what he talked, he taught family and friends lessons throughout his life no matter how big or small. Perhaps the most important lesson was his last, what is the purpose of living if it is not doing what you love.
Todd Gerrard's life was full. He left no stone unturned and no adventure unexplored. He serves as a reminder, that while no single person can do it all, those who come closest are the ones who never stop trying.

I lived at Albert Ave, Oakleigh back in the day when the inaugural Golden Barrell’s were an annual event. This was the first rental I moved to out of home – what an eye opener. I remember Todd living out the back in the carport which must have been freezing in winter but if anyone could handle it, Todd could. He was my brother, Fitta’s friend then and they continued with a long lasting friendship. I’m sure both of them used a few of their ‘9 lives’ with all their misdemeanours! I re-connected with Todd when we were living in Cairns. We purchased a house just around the corner from him and he’d drop in from time to time when Fitta was around. He was a great friend always with a good story to tell.....or a few stories actually. What a full life of adventure he lived and I’m so sad and sorry that his life was cut short. He had so much more living and loving to do. A loyal friend to many and you always felt like he had your back if you ever needed him. Much love to your two sons Jack and Max, all your friends and family. Keep guiding them and all of us with your true zest for life and adventure. You lived life to the fullest and you’ll be missed deeply. Caroline, Jonothan, Kate and Hannah Hardy

I first got to know Jack as formal, meticulous and driven. A perfect student and athlete, bordering on inhuman. But there was this wild streak and burning passion for life beneath the surface. It wasn't until I met Todd that that I could appreciate where it came from. I only knew Todd through Jack, but even 5 minutes with the man gave you a feeling of excitement and thrill imagining what was possible with life if you made a point of living it. It reminds me a bit of what people on the boat must feel like watching Steve Irwin jump off and onto a croc. They're a bit crazy but fuck they love what they're doing. And you can't help but feel it too.
