Steve Weber Halsell

Steve Weber Halsell, born February 1, 1951 in Angelina County, Texas, passed away on September 20, 2025 in Dallas County, Texas.

 

Steve dedicated his career to broadcast engineering, where his expertise and curiosity left a lasting mark. He was a man of humor and creativity, always quick with a joke and eager to share a laugh. Throughout his life, he explored a wide variety of hobbies—music, songwriting, writing, technology, motorsports, and engineering—constantly chasing new passions and always wanting to know how things worked from the inside out.

 

A firm believer in science and advancement, Steve chose to will his body to the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, ensuring that his lifelong curiosity and commitment to knowledge live on through research and education.

 

He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie; his sons, Travis and Skyler; and his brothers, Ernie and Jesse.
