Shami Bha...I was the first one to call you this. I remember when I was like 3 years old and my mom used to call you to come get me as I was misbehaving. You would come and pick me up and take me for rides and tell me stories. Sometimes we would just hang out while mom made lunch or dinner and you would play with me. I remember travelling with you, Anar Bai, Fui and Fua. My parents had the utmost respect for you. Best memories...forever in our hearts. Thank you for being my first Bha ♥️♥️♥️

“Inna lillahi wa inna ilehi raajay-oon" I met Shamashbha briefly for the first and only time in 2003, during my trip to Dar-es-salaam / Morogoro, after being away from TZ for 30+ years. I remember vividly Shamashbha came to pick us up at the airport. He then took us for dinner to JK. At this time, there were celebrations going on due to H.I.’s visit. I also met his wife Shyrose and their daughter (I think it was Sabrina) for the first time at the JK visitorsl breakfast. During these very brief encounters, I learnt Shamashbha together with other family members were heavily involved in serving the community, in various capacities 24/7. Shamashbha came across as a very lively, kind, helpful, generous and genuinely sincere person. Deep down in my heart, I felt a sense of warmth and comfort in his presence, and a spiritual connection to him. In spite of my limited interaction, he has left a remarkable imprint in my mind. I wish I had another chance to enjoy his company, but alas, to my regret, that day never came. So long Shamashbha, until we meet again in the spiritual world. To Walji family, you are part of our larger family, and we care deeply about what you are going through. My family and I offer our sincere condolences to the Walji clan and pray may Almighty rest the departed soul in eternal peace and give the family strength and courage to bear this immense loss. Ameen.
