Sandra "Sandy" Marie Surratt

                   Sandra “Sandy” Surratt

          May 19th 1936 – February 15th 2025

On February 15th 2025 Sandy cracked her last joke, pulled her last prank,hopped into a pink Cadillac with her main man Elvis Presley and exited this world.  

  Born in St Paul Minnesota her family relocated shortly after to Chicago Illinois where her story began. We are not really sure when Sandy decided that the St Louis Cardinals were superior to the Chicago Cubs but it has been a rivalry that has spanned generations in the family.

There was no such thing as a stranger to Sandy. She was blessed with the gift of gab, a trait she passed down and could have a conversation with anyone she met.  Sandy was also quick to adopt anyone in need of a Grandma. She loved saying she was everyone’s Grandma. She loved people and people loved her right back.  

   Sandy was blessed with 9 daughters, one son, 21 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren! Did you ever wonder why she liked her occasional margarita? She loved each and everyone of her kin and made a point to send a card to everyone on their birthdays( only after needing their address again because the address book grew legs and took a stroll) and call for every holiday.

 Sandy had so many stories of her life with her family and her friends over the years and she loved to tell anyone about them. What an absolute honor to have shared her with each and everyone of you.  

                            

Sandy is survived by – her children- Peggy Sue, Betty Padilla, Bill Watson, Jackie Andrews, Janie Watson & Jeanne ( Larry) Sugaski  

 

 Grandchildren- Carrie (Jake) Dubber, Andy Padilla, James Stewart, Mark ( Rachel) Erickson, Ashley Enright, Mike Olah, Alichia Baker, Linda Cruz, David Cruz, Kayla Watson, Levi Watson,Hannah Watson and Brian Surratt.   Great Grandchildren- Gianna Perry, Dekker Surratt, Ivan Torres,Brianna Gonzales, Alan Sanchez, Elena Olah and Audrey Olah.   

Proceeding Sandy in death are- Grandparents Alfred & Nellie Waugh, Mother Myrtle Piber, beloved adopted mother Gladys Petersen, husbands Burl Watson & Jack Surratt, close companion J L Rutherford, daughters- Linda Mae Watson, Barbara Ann Erickson, Susan Marie Watson and Grandson Steven Eugene.
