Ruben Jacob Grahn

RUBEN JACOB GRAHN Ruben Jacob Grahn, 78 years old, resident of Richmond VA, passed away on May 24, 2020 at the Henrico Doctors Hospital in Richmond VA. His death was caused by complications due by underlying health issues. Ruben was born in Roseau, MN on June 2, 1941 to Bert and Ida Grahn. His siblings included Brynolf Grahn, Sonja (Sunny) Grahn Hoback Bland, Evan Grahn, Thelma Grahn Paradise, and Margaret Grahn Harney. July 1963, Ruben moved to Connecticut where he later met Mary Elizabeth Smith and married her on August 23, 1964 in Willimantic CT. They later moved to Springfield MO for several years and finally settled in Richmond VA where he resided for his remaining years. Ruben mastered building homes in his lifetime and eventually owned/partnered with son Erik Grahn in their business called Steel Buildings LLC. They traveled the nation constructing steel buildings for many businesses. Being a devout Christian, Ruben focused on his church activities and had a Christ like love for people of addiction. He was known to offer employment and housing to people that others would not have. At the end of a long day, he enjoyed drinking a good cup of Seattle's Best Coffee while watching TV with his little dogs and best companions. Ruben's death is proceeded by his parents Bert and Ida Grahn, siblings Brynolf, Sonja (Sunny) and Evan and ex-wife Mary Grahn. He is survived by his three children, Stephanie Grahn (Amy Grahn), Kristan Grahn Kohlberg and Erik R Grahn (Hallie Grahn), his eight grandchildren, Bailey Grahn, Evan Grahn, Nathan Kohlberg, Erik K Grahn, Ashley Grahn Simpson, Hayley Shelley, Tyler Grahn, Logan Grahn and Carson Grahn and one great grandchild Liam Rest in peace father, grandfather, brother, friend and counselor of all people. You gave love so unconditionally, we will miss your sweet spirit until we meet again.
