As I sit here and write this to you Tito, I keep hearing you behind me saying "Hay Nako, Damon!". lol The two weeks we shared just last year ,at this very same time, were amazing. The instant bond and the overwhelming love and friendship we created was as if we had been in each others life forever. Your infectious smile and playful spirt will be with us always. I am having a tough time right now, knowing you wont be visiting the project in Vegas, as you and I were just doing a virtual video tour only a couple of weeks ago of the progress so far. You were so excited and thought it was really looking great and you couldn't wait to see it. You and I were discussing on the phone how excited you were to meet our newest bundle of joy, Avianna only a couple of months from now. We were talking about all of us going to Italy next year after everything settled down, since that was your most favorite place to vacation, This was all just so sudden and heartbreaking. I was looking forward to more family adventures with you for sure! I was an honor to meet you Sir, and I am truly saddened by your sudden departure from this world. I will cherish our short time spent together for the rest of my days. You have touched my heart in such a wonderful, loving way and made me feel like I was instantly family. For that alone I will always be humbly grateful. I will most definitely miss you deeply. May you rest in peace and watch over us every once and a while, when your not visiting Italy.... Until we meet again Tito. Damon

Roland and I jointly celebrated our yearly birthdays. His wit and jovial character endeared him to relatives and friends. He loves to travel and once joined him with Nita, my wife, in going to Europe. Our last trip together was in Vigan (Ilocos Sur) with brother Eddie from Canada and his wife Jackie. Roland, you will forever be missed.

Roland dear...you have always been a significant part of my life. It was through you that I met Sonny, you were the best man at our wedding and of course, you were the obvious choice to be Nathan's ninong. I miss you already ... the next time I visit Manila will be different ... I will not hear your laughter, your kuwentos and of course your pang-asar (your brand of affection). I know that you are now with Tita Cion & Tito Totoy...that is a consolation. You are home now. We will see each other again.

Tito Roland, it's hard to believe you're gone. Not only did you video chat with us occasionally - we chat almost every other day. You were part of our daily lives even if we're thousands of miles away. Thank you for everything you've done for me. You were a great role model. You taught me many things and didn't fail to guide me in the right direction. You were always there to cheer me up. Your sense of humor and your jokes always put smiles on people's faces. Your generosity knows no bounds, and that was passed on to me. You've shared so many good memories that I can't help but feel blessed that you were part of our lives... Tito, we will keep your memory alive. I thank God everyday Damon and I were able to take care of you when you visited us last year (September 2019). It was very rewarding feeling to be able to do for you, what you used to do for me when I was younger. I'm glad to be given that opportunity. It is sad you don't get to meet Avianna because you were the most excited when we told everybody the news. But I'm sure you will be watching over her. We will miss you, tito. Damon, Tricia, Avianna (and Ginger)...

Roland... I will always remember you as the BFF ng bayan, the most generous and sought after Ninong. Akala ko bato ako, pero napaiyak mo ako. My visit to Manila will not be the same now that you're gone. Buti na lang nag da diet na ako. Watch over us, your friends, when you're in Heaven.

This is in memory of my loving brother Roland. When I had my first stroke in 2018, he cancelled his planned trip to Russia and instead visited me in Canada for 10 days. He was with me when I was re-learning to drive again hitting road banks. When I had my second stroke I stayed with him for one month. We went clubbing on New Year's Eve, We had breakfast together sharing nutrition secrets and tasting different coffee brews which was his favorite. We went to different restaurants flashing our senior cards. On nights when we were at home, we would talk over a glass of wine and enjoy some slices of cheese. We went all over Manila: Divisoria, Dapitan Market, Ilalim Ng Tulay, Greenhills, Raon. We went to Ilocus and had fun just bonding together. He really knew how to enjoy life and Jackie and I are glad to have been part of it. You will surely be missed. God bless.
