Robert E Virden

Robert E. Virden, age 78, of Williamstown, passed away June 17, 2024 at Parkersburg Care Center.

He loved hunting, fishing and watching the Big Reds and Williamstown Yellow Jackets.  He graduated in 1965 from PHS where he played football and was an All-State baseball player. He worked for Brockway Glass for 19 years and IVS Hydro.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, JoAnne Argabrite Virden and daughters Amy Virden of Bethlehem, PA and Nikki Virden of Columbus, OH.  Also surviving are his siblings, Linda Matheny of Vienna, Sonny Virden and Gary Virden of Lakeland, FL. 

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Forrest A. Virden and Annabel L. Virden, SILs Linda Virden and Aggie Virden. 

He will be especially missed by his MIL Josephine Williams and SILs Kell Taylor, Terry Bennett, Tina Argabrite, Rosie Wigal, BIL Jimmy Argabrite, many nieces and nephews especially nephew Scott Matheny, special friends Dick and Louise Law, family friend Angel Brown and fur babies Bailey and Echo. 

A special thanks to Parkersburg Care Center staff for the love and compassion they gave to Bob. 

A private cremation will take place at Mid-Ohio Valley Cremation Society. No services are planned at this time.
