Robby Murphy Leonard

On Sunday, April 18, 2021, Robby Leonard, adored son and brother, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 22.

Robby was born on January 11, 1999 in Harbor City, CA to Nick and Denise Leonard. He attended Brighter Beginnings Pre-School in Lomita, St. Lawrence Martyr Catholic School in Redondo Beach from K-4th grade, and then started in Torrance Unified at Arnold Elementary for 5th, Calle Mayor Middle School for 6th-8th, and finished up at South High for 9th-12th grades. Robby moved to Arizona shortly after high school to start his adult life with his beloved dog, Tanner.

Robby was fiercely independent and always knew exactly what he wanted. He brought joy to everyone around him through his infectious smile and laugh. He had a pure and gentle soul, always wanting to help those in need. He especially felt called to protect all animals and was even a vegetarian from 8 years old to 16 years old. Robby was not only kind and funny but also had a brilliant mind. He often spoke about his dream of working at SpaceX one day as an engineer. Robby was an extremely hard worker and, with more time, would have reached any future goal he desired. Robby's family is so proud of the sweet, smart, handsome young man he was. Words cannot begin to express how much he will be missed.

Robby is survived by his parents, Nick and Denise, his sister Nikki, several grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. A funeral service will be held in his honor on Saturday, May 15th, 2021 at St. Lawrence Martyr Catholic Church on Prospect Avenue at 1 o’clock p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Robby's memory to Pawsitive Change-Marley's Mutts to support an important cause close to Robby's heart.
