Richard Armstrong

Richard passed away unexpectedly on May 1st, 2021.

In addition to food and cooking for his family and friends Richard enjoyed sport. He loved to play football and squash and enjoyed skiing in Scotland, Europe and America. In his later years he moved into football management and took every opportunity to ski.

Above all Richard was dedicated to and loved his family. He adored his seven nephews and nieces and took his responsibilities to them seriously encouraging and supporting them as they grew up. He was especially fond of spending time in Italy lounging by the pool, visiting ski resorts, eating good food and of course preparing delicious Italian meals. He loved all things Italian.

A visit to Ypres and the Menin Gate inspired Richard to support our military heroes in whatever circumstance they found themselves. Amongst his friends and family, he came across those who faced challenging physical and mental health problems and gave support whenever he could. These two featured strongly in Richard’s life and form the basis of the charities we have selected in his memory.
