The Board of Trustees of the Apostolic Faith Church (WECA) and the Bro. Bassey's Family announce the glorious exit of another gallant soldier of the Cross, Rev. Edet A.Bassey
He went to be with the Lord around 2pm on Wednesday, May 22, 2024. He was born on May 20, 1951.
Bro Bassey, as he was fondly called by many, impacted many lives and meant a lot to many people across the world, especially in Christendom. He will be greatly missed.

The righteous death of his saints are pleasant in His sight.And those who believe in Christ have passed from death to life. Remember: the righteous are of everlasting memory.Cheer up and look on the brighter side of life. Keep close to Jesus. God will wipe away all tears from your eyes and grant you the peace that surpasses all understanding in Jesus most powerful name. Amen.

To our amazing Father in the Lord, we thank God for his godly life, a good model of humility. We are grateful for the support, care and guidance you provided our daughter during her national service; a true reflection of your fatherly love. We are not able to sufficiently use words to express how much of value, God, through you added to our life in a unique way, but Heaven knows and bear witness. Rest on as we look forward to that Day, to reunite on the Resurrection Morning to an eternal fellowship of all the Saints of God. May the Holy Spirit console all. It is with a profound sense of loss and deep sadness that we bid farewell to our cherished and revered friend, Revd. Bassey. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, and the entire community he served so faithfully. Though we are based in the UK, we have heard of Revd. Bassey's remarkable work and the indelible impact he made on the lives of many, including our beloved father. Our father often spoke fondly of Revd. Bassey in the years leading up to his own passing in April 2023. He held him in the highest regard for his unwavering support, counsel, and wisdom. We were particularly grateful for the kindness and compassion Revd. Bassey showed our father during his final trip to Nigeria in 2012. His support and succour during that challenging time will forever be etched in our hearts. Even in our father's absence, Revd. Bassey continued to provide us with comfort, and guidance that we deeply appreciated. As we remember Revd. Bassey, we cherish the memories of his life and the legacy he leaves behind. We are grateful for the time we had with him, though it was cut short. We pray that Revd. Bassey's soul rests in eternal peace, surrounded by the love and grace of God. Tribute to A General Daddy when I heard of your departure I couldn't wrapped my head around it. Your memories kept reflecting all over me. I could not believe it, I wish you would have stay some years longer but it pleases God you go to Him sooner than we thought. This I know that the dead of a righteous is pleasing to God and that you only pass on into greater glory that have awaited you. I am consoled that you did not leave without adequate preparation and putting everything in order. You left a footpath for me to trek upon. An indelible mark in all our hearts. You showed us it's possible to live the apostolic lifestyle. Your simple nature got me astonished. Your central message to me could be summarize in five words; "hold on to the faith". You valued everyone alike, so caring, always listening, straight forward and up standing for the right course. I know you have fought the good fight of faith, kept the faith and have also finished your course. Pray for me that I might do same. Rest in peace Daddy. Godwin Edet E.
