One of my favorite memories is 'Thaniel slowly poking his head around the door into my room, and seeing me reading in bed (Ajax was gone that day, but he was still cautious) and he come up and checked out my book and stayed for a while. He was such a kind and gentle soul, with a mischievous streak and enough moxie to put Ajax in his place!

I want to share some of my very first memories of Nathaniel since I was lucky enough to be part of the princess's life since day one (well, of him being in Samm's life, I mean). I remember going over to see him for the very first time and him being so tiny and cute. Even though Samm never thought she would want an orange cat, she knew he was hers and he was going to be her special little guy. After meeting him for the first time, before he officially came home, I was lucky enough to have the honor of choosing Nathaniel's birthday as February 25th. The 25th has come up a lot in my life across various months (various birthdays, anniversaries, etc.) and I thought our special boy deserved a special birthday, especially because no one else had claimed February 25th specifically. It was his special day. I remember him coming home and Samm instantly being in love and welcoming him into our apartment being the perfect way to mark the end of one chapter and start the next one after college. I was so sad to leave Samm, but I was comforted at least knowing she was coming home to Faniel everyday. My other favorite memories after that were just hanging out with him in the Colorado apartment while I was lazy and Samm was in classes and we would watch Parks and Rec together for hours on end until she came back. He was a good, fancy boy and a fine southern gentleman to keep you company on a cold Colorado day. I love and miss you, our little Faniel <3

I only met Nathaniel a few times but what comes to mind is when I was over with Rachel for a girls night when we made Graham wear a crown and we were dancing and singing to Nathaniel and all the other cats and he didn't give a shit about our dance moves!
