I first met Mrs. Bailey in 1990 when I joined 24th Nassau as a Girl Guide, when she was Miss Roach. She quickly became one of my favorite adults and a mentor to me. I spent the next six years learning from her, traveling with her, annoying her, and loving her. After completing Rangers, she recruited me as her assistant in the Brownie program at Holy Cross. I promise you she knew every camp/guide song there ever was and she always sang the right tune. When I moved to Long Island to begin my teaching career, she and Ms. Barry encouraged me to reestablish a pack there, which I did. She supported me through that and it is because of her leadership that I am still a Brownie leader to this day. She fostered in me a love for guiding which I'm passing on to my daughter. She loved guiding and her guide sisters. She loved her girls from Brownies to Rangers and we loved her right back. She kept in touch with me down to days before her passing and she knew I and many others would be there for her if she needed us. She had a way of making each of us feel like we were her favorite. My sister, Dr. Melisande Bassett-Collie and I owe so much to Mrs. Bailey in shaping us into the women we've become. She also had a bond with our mom, who would let us go anywhere as long as Mrs. Roach-Bailey was there. I wasn't ready for her transition and I thought I had more time to learn from Mrs. Bailey. My only solace is knowing that she no longer feels pain or discomfort. May her legacy continue to live on through all of the young ladies she has touched. To her family and friends, I know this is not easy because we lost someone so priceless and so beautiful. May her soul rest in peace. With lots of love, Milagros

I joined girl guides when I was six, that was when I first met Mrs. Bailey, she would help me, from problems and crafts, she would also help me to earn badges, and when I heard the news, I was badly wounded, may she rest in peace, gone too soon, but not forgotten❤️🕊️

Michelle, a former Sun- Flower, Brownie Leader at 19th Nasssu, Holy Cross Anglican Church and a dedicated member, was a lovely, fun-filled leader who truly loved Guiding. She generously shared her time and talents with the BGGA, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her. We loved her dearly, and she will be fondly missed. As I sit here trying to put words together, I remember the many times I told you I am not a writer and you will give me that look. Then I would say, remember I teach math. I moved back to Abaco in January of 2004 to teach at the then Abaco Central High School where we met for the first time. I learned fast that once Michelle Bailey had a plan it was hard to get away from it, and her plan was for us to get Girl Guides going at ACH and shortly there after at St. John The Baptist Anglican Church. Since then we worked together as teachers, in guiding and teaching Sunday School. You was godmother to my last daughter Sydney and my three granddaughters, Lashawnya, Lashannya and Shanniaha and a very dear friend to me. I know we will all miss you dearly and that we can rely on a God who does all things well to comfort and guide us in and through this time. Sincerest condolences to your husband, sons and your entire family. Sindy Lowe and your girls.

I met Mrs Bailey when I was six, from then on she help me through any issues I had. She thought me how to be a leader, how to make friends, and how to be more creative. She was one of my supporters, teacher, and Girl guides leader, and I well forever be grateful for her being in my life no matter how sad I am now. I miss you more than anything, but I know you are finally at peace and I will forever be thankful that you were there for me and you will forever be here in my heart. Love Lakayja🩷
