A Memorial Celebration of Maureen's life  (See Events at top of page.)

Maureen Patricia Corcoran lived life on her own terms. She was a devoted Aunt and Godmother. She loved Mister Rogers, Sesame Street, The Brady Bunch, and Christmas. For many years she made annual trips to the West Coast to spend extended visits with her sister Margaret and Marilyn's families. Maureen rode the Amtrak train independently across the country, asking new friends on the train to play Uno and share a Bud Light.

Maureen came into this world as a fragile miracle baby, she was loved into health by the time and dedicated attention of her family. Open heart surgery as a young girl tested the family again, Maureen recovered and grew into a strong woman.

Maureen had many friends. For the past decade she was a daily visitor to the United Way's Framingham Cafe at Park which she still called "The Army" with great affection. On weekends she was grateful for meals and fellowship at Grace House. For many years she spent so much time at Concord St. Dunkin Donuts that they let her stay to help clean and close. She stopped daily at MetroWest Credit Union and appreciated the staff there very much. Her phone store friends helped her with many (many) charging challenges. Anastasia's Pizza crew were generous with French fries and friendly teasing. The One Stop was the center of Maureen's day time walks around downtown.

Maureen had many pets over the years. Her current companions are a pair of parakeets named Maureen Jr. and Bluebird. She paid daily attention to her pets and always made sure they had treats and fresh water.

Maureen cherished the opportunity to say goodbye to her best friends Chris and Mauricio. She spent her last days surrounded and held by the love of her sisters.

Maureen was preceded in death by her mother Ruth V. Corcoran, her father John J. Corcoran, and her Godmother and Aunt Marie Walsh. Our family also lost too soon Maureen’s brother John J Corcoran Jr, sister Michelle L Corcoran, and nephew Timothy (TJ) Goodner.

Maureen is survived by her sisters Marilyn Gilman, Margaret White, Marion Corcoran, and Madeline O’Rawe and sister-in-law Catherine Corcoran, brother-in-law Clark Gilman, brother-in-law David White.

Maureen treasured her nieces and nephews, Nate (Kristen) Gilman, Molly (Walker) Shave, Jennifer (Matthew) McIvor, Rebecca Corcoran, Victoria Corcoran, Joseph J. Corcoran, Kimberly White, Kristina (Jason) Goodner, Krystall Scheer, Veronica (Pete) BeJune, Heather Corcoran, Sean O’Rawe, Shana O’Rawe, Michelle (Brandon) Beasley, Eliza Shave, Rachel McIver, Sabrina Goodner, Lydia Goodner, Andrew White, Anthony Scheer, Roma Goodner, Charlotte Goodner, Everlee Doherty-Scheer, Bridget BeJune, Theodore BeJune and  Hailey Lynn O’Rawe.

I came to know Maureen when I volunteered at the United Way. I rarely got to serve at her table, but you could not miss her presence as she was quite a character and always asked how you were doing. I used to admire her because, despite her small stature, she was assertive enough to speak up when something was not right or if she was upset with what someone had said or was doing. She did not let people get away with not being nice. Also her sense of humor was great and she could take teasing; that drew others to her. When I would see her downtown, she was always conversing, joking, and laughing with individuals as she was a friendly soul who enjoyed connecting with others. Those who met her on the street or at the United Way will surely miss those visits and her comical remarks. Once I had the opportunity to bring her to the doctor's office, then to CVS to pick up some items, and later to her apartment. I got to see her beloved birds and I could tell she enjoyed the company. Throughout the day, she kept thanking me for doing everything we accomplished. But I was the grateful one as she was deserving of my assistance, and we had a wonderful day together. I have fond memories of her and am happy she is now without medical issues and with her family members having an awesome time doing whatever she chooses to do. I am sad to have lost her but she will never be forgotten. Maureen left a positive life long impression on anyone who was lucky enough to have met her.

I count myself among the lucky ones to have spent time with Maureen. There was never a dull moment and always a funny story, especially where Fluffernutter, Maureen Jr. and Bluebird were concerned. The deep & abundant love in this family is amazing to me, as was the equally great amount of teasing Maureen could dish out. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered.

Maureen was always my" Littlt Cousin" though there were only a few years between us. With her short stature, she was full of fire and never took scrap from anybody no matter their size and if she loved you, heaven help the other guy. That was often the platform for the teasing between us, my bringing it up would make her laugh and I loved that. We spent some of our teen years in the same house fighting and loving like sisters. Trekking across the county for Special Olympics events, Maureen was a great swimmer and team player under that banner and we had some great times traveling in the terrible Winter weather, ALWAYS stopping for ice cream on the way home. No matter what. EVERY phone conversation had talk of pets, dinner & shopping. My Girl loved Chinese, spaghetti and Mac & cheese. We have always shared a great passion for tea and cookies which always kept a connection through the years. To you, I will always tip a cookie at evening tea Reenie. Forever and always.

It was so shocking, and deeply saddening to learn of the passing of my neighbor, visitor, and “teasing” friend who left behind countless memories and laughs with many of us who enjoying meeting her, knowing her, and gathering with her at the Union House. Maureen’s absence also leaves a gigantic hole in the ambiance, and character of Downtown Framingham - but more so in the third floor hallway we shared in our apartment building. I stood in front of her door last night for a moment of silence and reflection, finding some comfort in knowing she is finally at peace, yet still in disbelief there won’t be any more knocks on my door for a “quick” visit. I know I speak for many others when I say Maureen will never be forgotten. Her presence and spirit will remain through memories that will be shared as well as laughter that will follow: I think that’s the best way to honor her and how she would like to be remembered. Maureen: I/we miss you already. Rest well, celebrate renewed health, and enjoy a beautiful reunion with your loved ones - and your friend, Violet.

I was so sad to hear of Maureen’s passing!!!! I have such fond memories of Maureen from Keefe Tech!!! She always loved seeing people and talking in the hall ways. Her laugh was contagious!! A funny memory was that she loved going to Mr Lords office and telling on me and Donna for random things as a joke needless to say we would get called to the principals office and Maureen would laugh so hard. She loved Mr Lord. We would drive her home at times and the entire ride was filled with her laughing!!! She was a kind gentle soul. Thinking of your whole family with love!!! ❤️ ❤️

The Shaves (Molly Shave Aka Molly Gilman)

We loved Maureen so much. A memorial Mass will be said for her at Saint Paul's Beyond the Walls in Rome at 7:00AM on November 22nd 2022. I want to share a funny memory of Maureen. When I was about 15 it was a really hot summer day. Maureen was out visiting like she often was and my mom had piled her and Heather and I all in the car to go to a long hot work event for Dad. At the end we were all hot and sweaty and decided to go up into the mountains. It was the funniest car ride of my life. Everytime we'd see snow Heather would point and get excited. Then two minutes later we'd see a waterfall and Maureen would point and giggle. They took turns squealing for over an hour. We were nearly in tears with the laughter and joy. There were "hot doooogggss" and "german German cookies" on that day. It truly was her "happy day". We love you Maureen. You will be truly missed. You were one of the good ones. I am truly excited for you to experience life in heaven in your perfected form, what a blessing that will be. May you rest in peace my sweet aunt. Good bye ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ And see you later ❤️
