June 3rd, 1942 - March 31st, 2024
I'd like to begin by thanking everyone for coming to celebrate the life of my mother, Lorraine Washington. My mother was the most straightforward and feisty little lady that I've ever met. I know many would agree. At times she could be very stubborn and set in her ways but deep inside she had her own way of showing her love and affection to each and every one of us.
Lorraine Washington was born on June 03, 1942 in New Orleans, La. She was the 4th child to Lawrence Clarvoe and Olga Clarvoe. Lorraine had two older brothers, an older sister and one younger sister. At the age of twelve Lorraine unexpectedly lost her mother to an illness unknown to her at the time. She assisted her father with the care of her younger sister and other responsibilities around the house. She spent the remainder of her childhood and early adulthood in New Orleans, La.
In 1969 Lorraine moved to California with her four children, (Tina, Wayne, Zina and myself, Tony). She began working for Pasadena Unified School District as a Teacher's Aide in 1980. She worked for Madison Elementary and Longfellow Elementary. She enjoyed working with her students in after school programs and other extra curricular activities. She retired after 30 years of dedicated services
After retirement, Lorraine moved back to her hometown of New Orleans,La. In 2005, the devastation of Hurricane Katrina forced her to relocate. She moved to Beaumont, TX where she resided until 2022. While living in Beaumont, TX, she was looked after by he niece Crystal and her husband Marcus. Lorraine found a church home in Beaumont, TX and became a very active member. She enjoyed going to bible study and other church gatherings. She was loved by many that had the pleasure of knowing her.
Later in life my my faced several health challenges which ultimately resulted in her untimely passing on March 31, 2024.
Lorraine was preceded in death by, Lawrence Clarvoe, Olga Clarvoe, Lawrence Clarvoe Jr. Calvin Clarvoe (CJ) & Shirley.
Lorraine is survived by her younger sister, (Rose Bragg), her sons, (Wayne & Tony), her daughters, (Tina & Zina), her grandchildren, ( Pavi'lle, Cinnamon & Tonae) her great grandchildren,(Brandon, Kayanna, Riley & Tyreek) her nieces and nephews and a host of other friends and friends.
Lorraine will be greatly missed by all those who loved her dearly. We will cherish her memory within our hearts forever.
Until we meet again, Love
