Lee Michael Perkins

Lee Michael Perkins (“Mike”) 71 of Steelville, Missouri died Monday, April 29, 2024, at Mercy Washington Hospital after a long battle with cancer.  

 

 Born on June 11, 1952, in St Charles Mo to Albert Lee Perkins Sr and Dorothy Maxine Slusser. Living in Kansas for most of his young life before a short stint in the Army and moving to Florida where he worked as a chef until moving to Missouri to be closer to family. He enjoyed fishing with his brother, Pat, and making gumbo with his granddaughter, Genesis. Mike had a contagious laugh and child-like love for life. 

 

Predeceased by siblings Mark Eugen “Beetle” Perkins, Theodore Wesley Perkins, and Alan Patrick Perkins, and parents Dorothy Maxine Slusser and Albert Lee Perkins Sr. Mike is survived by siblings Mary Beard and Jim Perkins, son Lynn Perkins, grandchildren Genesis Fanaro (spouse, Thomas Fanaro), Shannon Ohligschlager, Lynn Perkins, and Alexander Perkins as well as great grandchildren Brooklynn, Madisyn, and Lorelei Fanaro, Conrad, Sanoni, and Charlotte Ohligschlager, and Emmett and Penelope Patterson.  

 

Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at Lake Afton in Sedgwick County, Kansas.
