Larry Rollin Kyles
10 de mayo de 1949 - 14 de agosto de 2022
10 de mayo de 1949 - 14 de agosto de 2022
Born on May 10, 1949, in Texarkana, Texas, he was the son of James and Shirley Kyles. Larry had always been a cowboy at heart, just like his father. He loved country music, the cowboy lifestyle, and fast cars.
Raised in Bakersfield, California, Larry graduated from Foothill High School where he was very active in Future Farmers of America. He won multiple awards at the Kern County Fair Livestock Shows for showmanship and for his prized steers. After school, he worked at his parent’s company, ‘Bakersfield Stockman’s Supply’ where he helped his father provide farmers and ranchers assistance, with their veterinary needs.
Larry worked for the California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi, for a couple of years after graduation. Later he moved to North Carolina, where he married his wife Jaynice, and where he was employed by a large corporation as a warehouse district manager for six states, until his retirement.
You could best describe Larry as someone who enjoyed people, yet he was a man of few words. He was a straight shooter and told it like it was without elaborating. He was a protector of his younger brothers and family was very important to him. Larry was strong, liked working out, and enjoyed his guns, working on his car, playing cards, and building things out of wood. He loved to barbecue and considered himself a Tri-Tip Grill Master. Larry was a conservative with a kind of dry humor and a master of one-liners.
Larry and his wife Jaynice sold their home in Texas and moved to Arizona to enjoy their retirement in 2020. On August 14, 2022, while recovering from surgery at the hospital in Kingman, Arizona, Larry passed away from a sepsis infection.
A family graveside service was held for Larry at the Greenlawn Northeast ‘Garden of Prayer’ on September 26, 2022, in Bakersfield, California. His interment was near his father and the service was attended by his wife, children, grandchildren, three brothers, sister, nieces, and nephews.
Larry is survived and missed by his loving wife Jaynice Kyles; his children; James Kyles, Kelly Kyles, Blake Kyles (Jeong), Justin Kyles (Marianne), several grandchildren; his three brothers; James Kyles (Ann), Randall Kyles (Juanita), Shawn Kyles; his sister Diana Cooper, and numerous nieces, nephews and, cousins. Larry was predeceased by his father and mother, James and Shirley Kyles.
