Chappell Family And London & Partners
Julie Chappell

2021
It is with deep sadness that we learned of the loss of our friend Julie Chappell after a short illness.
Julie made an enormous contribution to London as a city, and to London & Partners.
From running VisitLondon marketing in the early 2000’s to leading London’s global trade and investment presence as Managing Director of International Markets, Julie has played a defining role in creating London & Partners’ current impact.
She was also a London leader. She was a trustee of London Southbank university, guiding their major projects investment strategy, a board member of the Mayor of London’s Music Board helping to grow our city’s grass roots music scene, and a member of the City of London’s culture grant panel.
Perhaps most importantly Julie was a wonderful friend. She had time, patience, kindness and humour for us all.
We will all have memories of Julie to share. We are collecting them here for her family.

Although it happened last year but I still feel difficult to accept. You are an excellent character person I ever met during work with London Partners. Hope you rest in peace. And could anyone send me the location of cemetery hence I can pay send flower?

So shocked and saddened to hear we have lost an amazing lady. Julie was such a kind, understanding person and supportive to so many people who had the good fortune of meeting her. Julie had a great sense of humour, she will be so missed. Sending my thoughts and strength to her family and friends. Karen x

So shocked and saddened to hear this news today. I got to know Julie when I was at VisitBritain, and then worked more closely with her as a board member of L&P. She was wise and thoughtful, kind and committed, very self-effacing. I know that she was a good manager and brought the best out in people. She really cared for her team. I hope her family are consoled and proud to read our tributes.

I met Julie years ago -late 80’s early ‘90’s in New York City. She was friends with my brother Donald. (Friends with Shaun) She was lovely and everyone loved her. I am sorry to hear about her passing.

Julie, I’m so incredibly sad but also so incredibly grateful to have known you, worked with you and learnt from you over the years. Our paths crossed in the early 2000s at visit London and fortunately for me a few more times over the years that followed. What a journey and what a pleasure. Always a kind and supportive influence. So strong and determined. Wonderfully creative and never afraid to embrace newness and difference. Most importantly, what a wonderful person you were to learn from and laugh with. Julie, you will be incredibly missed but your light shines bright in every person fortunate enough to know you. Sending all my love and strength to Julie’s family and friends xxx

I can't believe it - have just heard this sad, sad news. I worked with Julie in the early 2000s and you could not have met a kinder person. I loved working with her - she had a very mischievous side that made me laugh! I am so sorry for the loss of the family - she was a wonderful woman. The world is a poorer place without her. RIP Julie.
