Julia Caroline Frauenfelder-Gregory
November 17th, 1942 - November 23rd, 2020
November 17th, 1942 - November 23rd, 2020
Julia Caroline Frauenfelder-Gregory peacefully passed away on November 23, 2020 she had just turned 78 years old.
Julia was raised with her siblings, Frank, Gretchen and Lew, in Golden Colorado by Adolph and Anna Frauenfelder. She is survived by her children, Jeremy and Meghan Gregory, granddaughter Gabrielle Gregory-Campbell, brother Lew, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her husband James Gregory, who passed away in 2004.
Julia was a fighter, overcoming many obstacles throughout life but they never brought her down. She was a fiery spirit and full of love and devotion to her family, friends and neighbors. She was the rock and mortar of the family, keeping things together during turbulent times. A pragmatist and always grounded. Julia was known for remembering birthdays, anniversaries, special occasions and being able to vividly recall memories and events. Julia always went out of her way to help others by taking them to the store, to doctor's appointments and finding ways to elevate and cheer up the spirits of so many like cooking great meals as surprises.
Julia always had a joke and a funny story to share. Most recently, while she was sitting in the hospital with twelve broken ribs she said to the doctor with a big smile, “you know I had a friend who believed the world was flat, but she finally came around.”
Not only did she have an amazing smile and a blunt and quirky sense of humor that would light up the room, she was also no non-sense. One of her favorite things to say was, “you better nip it in the bud.” “Hurry your horses, I don’t got all day.” She was tenacious and full of life up until the day she died. She will be greatly missed by so many that knew her.
Julia became a second mother to so many. She also had such tireless love and compassion for animals, taking in and caring for dozens of dogs, cats, ducks and rabbits, etc… She would like to see any contributions in lieu of flowers directed to Luvin Arms Animal Sanctuary.
