Julann "Julie" Erb Meyers spent her life creating beauty—in the landmark buildings she helped bring to life, the homes she lovingly restored, the landscapes she painted, and the adventures she shared with those she loved. She passed away peacefully on July 26, 2026, at the age of 88. She got to spend the last few years of her life in California with her beloved son, which made her unbelievably happy.

Born on January 2, 1938, in Hastings, Nebraska, and moving to Kansas City, MO, she was a proud Mid-Westerner. She attended Cornell University in NY, majored in Art History and met her equally creative husband, Packy, who majored in Architecture. Together they built a life rooted in fun, laughter, and creativity in Guilford, Connecticut, where they raised their two children, Duffy and Molly. They were often seen gallivanting off to elaborate costume parties, making pina coladas for neighbors, or prancing around the neighborhood in their Easter bonnets and not much else.

Julie enjoyed an extraordinary 40-year career as an Interior Designer at Cesar- Pelli Architects in New Haven, Connecticut. Her work included Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, and the Salesforce Tower and Salesforce Transit Center in San Francisco.

An artist to her core, Julie found beauty in everyday life. She loved painting the marshlands of Guilford and capturing it’s many shades of light at all times of day. She thoughtfully renovated the family's 17th-century home, blending modern comforts with carefully chosen antiques and architectural relics to create a home of timeless warmth and harmony. She had an unmistakable flair for style and was rarely seen without wearing a striking ethnic piece of jewelry.

Julie believed the world was meant to be explored. Favorite adventures included camping and riding camels in the Sahara Desert in Morocco, enjoying the spice markets and the Taj Mahal in India, hiking and camping in Nepal's Annapurna region, enjoying pints of Guinness hopping through the moss bogs in Ireland, and exploring Machu Picchu in Peru. Summers were never complete without a trip to Martha’s Vineyard, which often coincided with the US Open, which we’d watch faithfully on the porches of our rental homes. She also cherished our family vacations to the Jersey shore with her college besties and their families, where many wonderful memories were made. Through these travels she instilled in her children a lifelong love of adventure, laughter, family and fun.

Julie approached life with intelligence, warmth, impeccable style, and an infectious laugh. During our family trip to the Sahara, after a fellow traveler was thrown from his camel, Julie instantly called out, "Ten for creativity, five for execution," sending everyone into full belly laughter.

Julie is survived by her son, Lauren "Duffy" Meyers, and his wife, Jazmina Lopez, of San Francisco, California; her daughter, Molly Meyers, and her husband, Richard Armstrong, of Hingham, Massachusetts; and her beloved grandchildren, Lauren, Ethan, and Annabel.

Julie believed that beauty was meant to be lived—in the homes we create, the landscapes we cherish, the journeys we take, and the people we love. Her legacy lives on in the family she cherished, the places she helped bring to life, the paintings she created, and the curiosity, creativity, and spirit of adventure she inspired in all who knew her.

Julie was one of the most beautiful and talented people who ever walked the Earth. She was always smiling, ready for and adventure o to r help in any way she could. We had many adventures together that included travel. We laughed and cried together through the 50 years of our friendship. There are no words to describe her loss. She leaves an incredibly wonderful family behind all of whom loved her beyond words. She always will be remembered as a wonderful friend to many, a hard worker and a very talented artist, and she will be greatly missed.
