Today, I stand here not just as a son mourning his father, but as someone deeply grateful for the gift of having known and been loved by him. My dad was more than a parent — he was my guide, my teacher, my protector. He taught me what it means to be strong, not by hiding his struggles, but by facing them with courage and grace. He showed me that real strength isn’t loud or boastful — it’s quiet, steady, and full of love. Dad worked hard every single day — for his family, for his dreams, and for the people he cared about. But no matter how busy or tired he was, he always made time for us. He had a way of making everyone around him feel seen and valued. His laughter could fill a room, his wisdom could calm a storm, and his love could heal a heart. He wasn’t perfect — none of us are — but he was perfectly ours. And it’s in the everyday memories that I will find him: in the lessons he taught me, the jokes he told, the values he lived by, and the love he left behind. Dad, your presence may no longer be with us, but your spirit will forever live in our hearts. You’ve left footprints that time will never erase — footprints of kindness, strength, and love. Thank you for being my father, my hero, and my greatest example. I miss you deeply, but I take comfort knowing you’re at peace, watching over us with that same gentle smile. Rest well, Dad. Your legacy lives on in us, and in everyone whose life you touched. Olumide Elemide

Baba Elemide, we met nearly twenty years ago, and from the very beginning, you welcome me as a brother. You were more than a friend, you were my brother, confidant, especially within the All Saints Anglican Church Hyattsville, Maryland community. One thing I knew without a doubt: you were a fearless and proud Egba son. Your generosity, sociability, and cheerful spirit made you unforgettable. You were truly a happy- go-lucky who brought joy wherever you went. I will deeply miss you - and especially the way you called me "Akin" in that warm, familiar our Egba dialect. Baba, sun re. Rest well, until we meet again, never to part.

A Tribute to the jovial Broda of mine : Joshua Adesina Elemide I bid you farewell Broda Sina. My earliest memory of Broda Sina was when we were all living in 18, Soleye Crescent under the caring eyes of three mothers. Namely: Mama Olori Ibironke Ademola who was carrying all of us in her blossom mostly hidden from the person that was paying the bill: Omoba Adeyoyin Ademola and helped by Mama Aduke Adeniji ( Iya Yemisi). All of blessed memories. We were very many under that roof , men , women, boys & girls. But before then I remember vividly that Bro Sina’s mum with my mum & mama Sunbo Elemide. They had such close relationship and caring attitude. After his mum passed and he joined us in Soleye , because of the relationship of our mothers it was easy to regard each other as brother and sister. He was always funny, he knew how to down play a fiery situation with a joke or two. While in America he will communicate with me in England, sent his wedding pictures and Abiola’s pictures too. We did not agree on everything but we never broke fellowship. He was my brother and I am his sister Joked a lot when I became a pastor. I never forgot his birthday & he would respond “I know you will not forget “ we will laugh. We had a common yearly joke , he will say “ I don’t drink beer I drink only Trophy “ Broda will laugh at my husband calling him “oko Pastor “. Broda Sina was always fun to gist with, never a dull moment, he never shied from things that concerns the family, he was always generous He once said to me “ Yemisi I love Jesus…mo feran Jesu” May the Lord receive in him His blossom RIP my dear Broda. Hummmm, Uncle Shine as you are fondly called. I still can’t believe I’m writing this tribute about you this soon… As we gathered with heavy hearts to honor the life of a truly great man, whose life cut was so sudden. Uncle Shine, your presence was a source of joy and light in every gathering, touching life with your warmth, laughter, and kindliness- your generosity is second to none. Though you are a man of strong principles your humility, sense of humor and genuine friendship endeared you to all. At All Saints Anglican Church Hyattsville Maryland, you were not just a member but a beacon of fellowship, bringing smiles and encouragement to everyone. Your jokes will continue to echo in our heart, and your absence will be deeply felt amongst us. We thank God for the gift of your life, while we mourn your passing, we celebrate the legacy of LOVE, JOY and FAITH you left behind. You will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Sunreee ooooo Baba Joshua Elemide (Uncle Shine)

Baba Elemide, Your passage was a rude shock to me!!! Today, we gather to honor the life of a truly good man. Goodness is not simply found in words but in the quiet strength of actions, the kindness shared without expecting anything in return, and the love that touches lives in ways too profound to measure. He was a man of integrity, steady, dependable, and honest. He led not with loudness, but with humility, showing us that real strength is found in gentleness and compassion. He was a pillar of trust to the ASAC GUILD OF STEWARD and the community, someone you could always count on, no matter the hour or the need. His legacy will not be measured in material wealth or grand titles, but in the countless lives he brightened, the lessons he passed on, and the love he left behind. As we remember him today, let us not only mourn his passing but also celebrate his life, a life that showed us what it truly means to be a good man. May we honor him by living with the same integrity, kindness, and love he gave so freely. May your soul rest in peace! Adieu From Nike Adebusuyi ASAC GUILD
