Joseph Alphonso Esposito, 85, of Beaumont, CA, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2025. He was born on December 8, 1939 in Hazleton, PA to Ralph and Margaret Esposito.

Joseph (Joe) was a devoted husband to Maria Cristina and both shared a love for music, travel and nature, enjoying concerts and the outdoors together often. Joe was a loving father to Dawn and Joann (Joey), a beloved cousin and uncle to his nephews and nieces and a cherished friend to many. He valued family and friends and leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness.

Joe was raised in Pennsylvania alongside his late siblings Ralph and Robert who he respected and cared for deeply. He fondly shared treasured memories of growing up with his brothers and time spent with family members and friends. Joe was a storyteller who could strike up a conversation with anyone and form a captive audience.

Joe served five years in the Army with the 131st Infantry and was honorably discharged as a Staff Sargeant. He served in the National Guard and was an American Legion member for several years. Subsequently, Joe had an established career in computer programming. He was a dedicated mentor and colleague who always lent a helping hand and offered continual support to others.

Joe was known for his appreciation of the outdoors and love of cooking. He spent much of his time hiking, camping, hunting and exploring nature. He was passionate about efforts to preserve forests and protected land as a member of the Sequioa Natural History Association and Nature Conservancy. His enthusiasm for cooking was evident to all he knew, and he was especially known for making pizza, which everybody loved. He endearingly prepared food for loved ones and relished trying yours. Joe also loved to travel and experience different cultures, history and cuisine around the world.

A celebration of life will be organized in Beaumont, CA for family and friends to honor Joe, reminisce and comfort each other (details and date to be shared soon). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to plant a tree in Joe's memory, honoring his devotion to nature conservation. Please find the link above.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

I have so many memories with Joe. We went on a few vacations with Joe and Maria. One of my favorite memories was camping. I loved listening to the stories he would tell around the campfire. The dinners he made were incredible. No hamburgers and hot dogs! lol! He was so very kind and caring when I would stay with them in their home. I miss you Joe.

From Anna & Sam Fasone, we will always remember the wonderful times together with Joe & Maria, spending time sharing our love of the outdoors and interesting conversations. The first photo was a trip we took to Sedona AZ and the other is from a fun trip to San Diego CA for the Italian Festival "La Festa". We will miss Joe's infectious laugh, colorful stories, and immense kindness. The world has lost a special person and we will keep his spirit in our hearts always. Love you Joe.

It was at PennCorp in the early 80's and Joe was tasked with teaching me (Lucy) just enough JCL to get my job done. I was clueless and he stayed smiling and very patient throughout the whole process including my follow up phone calls when I got stuck. His kindness and welcoming smile persisted throughout the years. Hugs and love, Lucy and Richard P.S. Picture of Joe and Maria attending our wedding in Feb '88.

Cristina, we think of you and Joe every day and we wanted to share these photos. Here are some memories from long ago (thanks Harold!) and a few from not so long ago. I love that picture of you & Joe!🩷. Of course, I had to throw in a picture of Joe with Joey.🐾 I’ll always have fond memories of how Joe lit up about cooking these fabulous meals alongside you. We always had such a great time when we would visit you both and enjoy one delicious course after the other whether it was linguine and clams, or 40 clove garlic chicken (yum!), pear and goat cheese salad and of course, the cocktails all to be enjoyed Alfresco while being entertained by Joe’s many stories! Also what a treat it was that he was always willing to swap recipes with me. Such great times and great memories.
