John Michael Taylor passed away April 29, 2020 at the age of 60. Gone before him are his parents Luster and Delema Taylor, his brother Jerry and sister Jamie. John, Jerry, and Jamie all passing away way before their time. He is survived by his brother Peter as well as:

Dee - his wife of 41 years and high school sweetheart

Jeremy - his #1 son and of whom he was most proud

Alicia - his #1 daughter-in-law

Canyon and Laney - his grandkids and the light of his world

Betty - his mother-in-law and wife to father-in-law Kenneth who passed away in July.  Like parents to him.

Joel - brother-in-law and long-time golfing buddy

Tracey and David - sister- and brother-in-law and just the best

A slew nieces and nephews who he adored

Aunts, uncles, cousins - he enjoyed being around his family

An assortment of friends with a shout out especially to Tony, his best friend from high school

John loved his family more than anything and particularly being Gramps to his grandkids. It was the most important job in his life and he was grateful for the quality years he got to spend with them.

He was able to enjoy most of what he wanted to do despite an accident in 1980 that made him an above-the-knee amputee. He worked extra hours for years in a job where he had to stand up and he never complained (except about the refs in every single UK game).

He learned to play golf and the golf gods kept him coming back until a couple of years ago when he was unable to do it any longer.

Dee made sure to drag him along on vacations because you never know when you might not be able to go. He was always reluctant to go but truly enjoyed those trips and loved to tell about them even though he couldn’t point to where he had been on a map or remember the name of the darn place.

Sometimes, you don’t know what influence you had on someone until a time like this. Several of Jeremy’s friends mentioned John being a father figure in their young lives and his positive influence. This is when you know your life mattered and his did.

Big John has left a big hole in our hearts that can only be filled with the all of the special memories we have of him.

John Taylor was a great man. He greatly loved his family and I am thankful to be a part of that. Everybody that met this man walked away with a new friend. May his soul rest in God's arms as I will sorely miss him.

My heart is breaking to hear this news about John. He was always a fun guy and a great coworker at "The Big K" (Kawneer). Dee and Jeremy and the entire family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Prayers for Dee and Jeremy the grief of losing your loved one can is so painful. John was a funny man,a lot of fun to work with. You never knew what was going to come out of his mouth! He had the kind of personally that drew people to him. Although he was a jokester he was there to lend a helping hand to people in need.Im grateful to have had him for a friend.

I am so sorry that John is gone, I loved him dearly. Even though I am his aunt we grew up together and were close as children. I always felt that way toward all of them. I wish I had been closer in the later years. I’m going to miss him greatly.

Dear John, you left us far too soon and we will miss you forever. Thank you for all the love and laughter, the sarcasm and Ky Wildcat fanaticism, the grilled shrimp and steak, and every other fun and crazy memory you left us. I am sure Jeremy and Canyon will represent you at all future Wildcat games and make sure the referees are properly yelled at. But most of all thank you for being such a blessing to our family for over 40 years. We love you always. RIP
