Jas Warren's impact on the world, most notably through theatre education, cannot be measured by awards or titles alone. For more than three decades, he transformed stages, classrooms, and countless lives. As a director, educator, and mentor, Jas did not just teach theatre; he taught people how to find their voice, lead with empathy, and to see the world through the lens of truth and creativity. A visionary presence in the Florida Thespian community for nearly 25 years, Jas served as troupe director, board member, and executive leader, shaping the landscape of theatre education across the state. His countless productions throughout his career redefined what educational theatre could be: fearless, honest, and profoundly human. His induction into the Educational Theatre Association's Theatre Teacher Hall of Fame in 2018 simply affirmed what his students had always known - that Jas is one of the greats.

Jas created classrooms that became families, stages that became sanctuaries, and lessons that reached far beyond the curtain call. His true legacy lives in the people he shaped: the students who found confidence under his direction, the colleagues who found inspiration in his vision, and the friends who found family in his quick wit and unshakable authenticity. He had a rare gift for seeing the potential in others and holding up a mirror to remind them of their worth. He reminded us to lead with empathy, to face darkness with light, and to find beauty in the hard things.

Jas leaves behind his beloved wife, Renee, and children, Abigail and Jack, along with an extended family of artists, educators, and dreamers forever changed by his presence.

His legacy continues to echo in the voices and choices of all who had the privilege to know him, a living testament to his passion, generosity, and the belief that art can, indeed, change the world.

"Choose the least important day in your life. It will be important enough." - Thornton Wilder, Our Town
