Irene Duhart Long

You were a pioneer, a trailblazer, you went on to make history as NASA, Kennedy Space Center's, first female African-American Senior Executive Service member. I remember our days of working together in "MD" back in the early - mid 1980's. It was an honor to know you and work with you. I remember how proud you and Dr. Tipton were of your Wright State roots. Thank you for including me in a few of the historic moments in your KSC life - in the Ebony Magazine photo shoot featuring Dr Mae Jemison, another NASA trailblazer and when Nichel Nichols was there you kindly introduced us. You inspired and showed us that STEM careers were not limited to our male counterparts and with preparation and perseverance anything is possible. Your contributions are too numerous to count, you're impact endless. Thank you, aerospace pioneer, Irene Duhart Long.
