August 10th, 1940 - May 5th, 2015
Harvey L. Green, MD was born in Pennsylvania in 1940 to parents Martin Green DDS and Sylvia Green. Harvey went to Temple University to study medicine and married his high school sweetheart Phyllis Laver in 1963; they divorced in 1984 and he remarried to Sharyl Mott around 1985. Dr. Green practiced as a peripheral vascular surgeon in Santa Ana, California, and worked at many hospitals in Orange County, where he was known by his colleagues as "the gallbladder and appendectomy king." During the Vietnam war, Harvey served in the Army's First Division as a medical officer, and was awarded the Bronze Star for his bravery when his medical transport came under fire. He passed quietly the morning of May 5th, 2015 after a brief illness, leaving behind his grieving wife, two children, two stepchildren, and two step-granddaughters. He is fondly missed and lovingly remembered.
