Greta Green

During my last visit with Greta during the week of May 31st - June 5th, Carroll and I were sitting by her bed. She had been in so much pain and was so uncomfortable for such a long time that almost nothing helped to alleviate her distress, not even the medication. I tried to distract her for a few minutes by playing "What's your favorite...?" I started with "Greta, what's your favorite color?" But before I let her answer, I said, "Wait! I know what it is!" She said, "What is it?" "Mauve," I said. She acknowledged that I was right. So I asked her, "What's your favorite flower?" She answered, "I didn't know I had one." "I know that you do. I'm pretty sure it's lavendar roses." She shook her head, No. I told her that I was sure it must be because she had lavendar roses in her wedding bouquet. She gave me a puzzled expression. Carroll finally said, "Talisman Roses. Her bouquet had talisman roses in it." That about blew me away, although it shouldn't have, given Carroll's photographic memory. He forgets nothing.
