Mrs Yong was my Sunday school teacher when I was in Kindergarten over 20 years ago. I have fond memories of casual conversations with her in Church even long after graduating. Her enthusiasm for teaching and service will never be forgotten. Thank you Mrs Yong and may God bring her family comfort and peace in these difficult times.

I love you Mrs Yong! I wish I had the opportunity to tell you this, but I will look forward to the glorious day when I can tell you this in person. Thank you for modelling a life of service unto the Lord. I will remember and model after you for the rest of my time here on Earth.

Mrs.Yong taught both my daughters who are now 29 and 26 years old. They remember her as the kind teacher. She had a great memory and asked of them just before GPC had to close for the circuit breaker. GPC has such a wonderful dedicated team of Sunday School teachers. God has truly blessed us with Mrs Yong’s service and we will continue to remember her in our hearts.

Mrs Yong loved me like her very own son. This is probably the 1,000th (or more) son she adopted as her own, because I walked into the doors of Glory Presbyterian Church only a few years ago. She welcomed me into the Sunday School ministry, guiding me and never chiding me despite my failures. I watched her put her heart and soul into molding these children, not just intellectually with the word of God, but as God-fearing and obedient children. I saw her love each child as her own - the ultimate evidence is in the requited love that every child had for her. She did many things that some of my closest friends would not have/ don't do to this day. She remembered my birthdays and gave me gifts. She asked after my family regularly. She invited me to celebrate big moments (often for others, and not herself). Pictured above is a hand sanitiser bottle she made sure every member of every mission trip had before we entered the boarding gates of Singapore Changi Airport. I remember her very regularly nowadays, in the present days of the coronavirus, but I am sure many of us have remnants of her love and care of us. I look forward to our reunion in the kingdom of our Father God, Almighty, whom she pointed to and served relentlessly for many of the days of her life. May the Spirit of our God comfort each one of you as we mourn her death which is in the past, but also lead us to celebrate the present reality of her union with our Lord Jesus Christ.
