Geoffrey Scott Munro
May 13th, 1954 - September 6th, 2026
May 13th, 1954 - September 6th, 2026
"Well done, good and faithful servant." Matthew 25:23.
Geoffrey Scott Munro, age 72, passed away suddenly at his home on September 6, 2026. Born on May 13, 1954, in Chicago, Illinois, Geoff was raised in the city he loved before later making his home in Mundelein, Illinois, and eventually Oklahoma, where he spent the last ten years of his life.
Geoff was a family man. Soley devoted himself to his wife and loved ones. He loved the Lord and was so grateful to be a part of New Song Church, Oasis team and Feed His Sheep ministry. He will forever be treasured as Patricia walks forward with their Lord until she sees him again in heaven.
Geoff was a patriot who loved his God and Country. He had recently reconnected with the Schurz High School alumni group and loved the relationships they had rebuilt and made in this new season of their lives.
Gifted with both creativity and practicality, he loved working with his hands, whether building, repairing, or creating something new. He was the person family and friends could count on to fix almost anythingand tinker with his many projects.
Music had been a part of Geoff’s childhood and the Munro family tradition. In their early years, music brought the Munro siblings together for countless special occasions, including church events and gatherings as children at the Methodist Campground in Des Plaines, Illinois. The friendships and memories created through music remained a treasured part of his life.
On July 26, 1997, Geoff married the love of his life, Patricia Munro (née Goold). Together they built a life rooted in family. They enjoyed the simple pleasures of exploring the four corners of Oklahoma, andrecently the Grand Canyon in Nevada and California from north to south.
Geoff is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia; his daughters, Jennifer Larkin, Sarah Haka (Joe and son Gabriel), and Amanda Furno (Chrisand son Aiden). He is also survived by his sisters, Carol Galliett and Bonnie Lill (Steven); and his sisters-in-law, Lynn Munro, Mary Ann Goold, Ruth Stankowski (Ray), and Genie Durand (Paul), along with many extended family members and dear friends.
Geoff was preceded in death by his parents, Emmerson and Elfriede Munro; his brother, Bill Munro; his youngest sister, Kim Munro; his mother-in-law, Martha Goold; his brothers-in-law Hollis Earnest and Peter Galliett; sister-in-law Margaret Earnest; and cousin, Marte Palm.
Geoff will be remembered for his kind heart, quick wit, unwavering willingness to help others, deep faith, love of family, and the music that so often brought those he loved together. His presence will be deeply missed, but the memories he created and the lives he touched will remain a lasting blessing to all who knew him.

Geoff was a wonderful brother-in-law and a devout man of God. He was a true gentleman and a rare authentic soul. I will always miss his brilliant, dry sense of humor and appreciate his joy of music which could light up a room with his guitar and singing. He lived his Christian faith out loud, not just in words but in action, through his dedication to feeding those in need with groups like Feed My Sheep. Whether he was fixing a car with his expert mechanic hands or just sharing a quiet whisky and coke, he did everything with kindness. Rest in peace Geoff. You are so deeply missed.

I first met Geoff at the Oasis Senior group. He and Trish were both so nice and easy to talk with. I got to know them better by hosting our monthly game night. Geoff was always so kind, so gentle, soft spoken , considerate and full of wisdom. He quickly became the administrator for our group and he did an amazing job. Always posting the activities, maps, rsvp’s, menu’s etc. ALL of us will miss him tremendously but not because of what he did but because of who he was. His life truly modeled the God he served. The last game night I got to sit beside Geoff as we played cards and visited and laughed. I believe Geoff was the champion that night (which is hard to do if Bernie is playing). I’m so grateful for the promises we have in Jesus and that one day we will all see Geoff again.

In Loving Memory of Geoff As we reflect on Geoff’s life, we are reminded of what it truly means to live with a servant’s heart. He lived his life guided by two absolute anchors: his deep faith in God and his love for his family. From his roots in Illinois to his active years serving in multiple ministries at New Song Church in Oklahoma, Geoff’s life was a testament to his beliefs. He didn't just attend church; he lived his faith, with Bible readings, through his actions imbued with kindness, and generosity. Above all else, Geoff honored his 29-year marriage to my youngest sister, Pat. Their bond was built on a foundation of long-term love, mutual support, and devotion. Together they happily created a new home in Oklahoma. It brings our family comfort to know that they recently discovered new highs together, sharing joyful moments and plenty of laughter and long cherished memories while visiting family in California. Geoff’s love was also defined by his immense generosity. When my mother needed care, Geoff and Pat opened their hearts and their home to her, providing daily essentials, delicious meals and tender care for the last five years of her life. What I remember most vividly—and what brought me the greatest joy—was the way Geoff would joke and kid with my mom and often she had a witty reply! He had a gift for bringing lightness and laughter into the room. I think he was probably acutely aware of my own no-nonsense, serious approach to life, and he used his humor to bring balance and smiles to us all. While Geoff spent so much of his time caring for others, he silently and bravely weathered his own health storms. He carried his challenges with immense dignity. As a nurse, it was a privilege, that he trusted me to ask for my professional opinion when he faced those storms. I was always deeply honored to give it to him. Geoff has left an undeniable mark on our hearts. He was a devoted husband to Pat, a loving father, a cheerful caretaker, and a faithful servant of God. We will miss his laughter, his quiet strength, and his generous spirit, but we take comfort knowing he is now at peace with the Lord he served so faithfully. My prayers to my Sister and niece and his family members as they cope with this loss of a huge, unexpected proportion.

My fondest memory of Uncle Geoff was a trip I took out to visit him and Aunt Pat when I was in high school. We went out to their extended backyard to swing the golf club, and I ended up crushing one that went all the way to his house and made a dent in his siding. I felt awful, but he just smiled and said no worries. A few years later, he sent me a cut out portion of his house siding with the ball mark and a note. He turned a whoopsie into a great memory. He was a man of great wit and humor to go along with a calm and relaxing demeanor. So glad I got to see him recently as well, and wishing Aunt Pat and the family strength as they grieve the loss of this great man.
