Maria Teresa D’Azzo

Francie Inez

Dr. Francie Marina Inez, fondly known as Dr. Francie, went to Heaven on Sunday, Feb 13. The 75‐year‐old resident of San Pedro, California dedicated most of her life to the service of others through her work as a psychologist and as the executive director/CEO of her non‐profit organization, Hope 4 Kids.
Born to Filipino emigrants, Francisco Dayoan Inez & Marin Igarta Inez, Francie was proud of her heritage and often incorporated aspects of it into her various outreaches. She earned her Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) degree from Pepperdine University. As a career psychologist, she provided counseling to children and families in San Pedro and the surrounding areas. Dr. Francie’s works were many, and she was publicly recognized for her accomplishments and accolades in local newspapers and also from several VIPs of the communities, including a mayor, council members, county supervisors and municipality directors. More of Dr. Francie Inez’s numerous achievements may be found on LinkedIn. Although she rubbed elbows with community leaders, Marines, and local celebrities during various outreach programs, such as Toys for Tots and Harbor Cruises, her focus was always on the children and their well‐being. Francie was an avid music lover. She was multitalented as a pianist and played the ukulele. She also shared the gift of song, both casually and as part of the worship team at her congregation. In her youth, she was an accomplished dancer, performing in Swan Lake as a ballerina.
Francie was delighted to welcome her first grandchild in 2007 and has since rejoiced in becoming “Lola” (grandma) six more times. A loving mother, Francie basked in the joy of being a doting grandmother, faithfully attending school plays, cheering on the sidelines during extracurricular activities, teaching the little ones the art of hula dancing, sending gifts and cards across the miles, and lovingly spoiling her “apos” (grandchildren). Francie was preceded in death by her second son, Ben Francisco. She is survived by her 8 children: Jerry (Sandra), Emil (QueAnh), Raul (aka Mandy), France (Carl), Sanna (Dave), Tisha (John David), Elisa, and Kalani; her 7 beloved grandchildren: Ian, Mia, Andrew, Nicole, AvaLei, Hannah, and Rowan; and the countless families and children she helped throughout the years.
A private visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 1 from 4‐8pm, but due to Covid‐19 restrictions is for the immediate family only. However, all are welcomed to remotely attend this visitation using the Cove Visitation link below. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 2, from 2‐3pm at Green Hills Memorial Park, 27501 South Western Ave, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275 with Pastor Jerry Cesario and Pastor Charlie Woods of Calvary Chapel of San Pedro officiating. For family and friends that cannot attend the services, a remote attendance option is available using the Chapel Service link below. For any guests planning to attend in person, please put your phones on airplane mode to decrease the likelihood of buffering during the services. Following the Chapel Service, there will be a short drive to the burial site where Francie will be laid to rest next to her son and mother. Afterwards, all are welcome to continue the celebration of Francie’s life at the Calvary Chapel in San Pedro, 600 West 8th Street, San Pedro, CA 90731. The entrance to the parking lot is on 7th Street, just west of Grand Avenue. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society; or please go to www.GoFundMe.com and search for Dr. Francie Inez.
Francie will be greatly missed by her family, her friends, the community, and all those for whom she was a beacon of light and hope.
