I was given such a blessing knowing Frances as a "mother" and a friend. She was the beautiful and caring mom I never had. Her son, Robert was the love of my life for many years. I am eternally grateful to have known not only Frances but most of the Ruiz family. I will never forget her kindness, love and constant support for both Robert and I. I know this, she will rest peacefully now with the men who meant the world to her, her husband, and both of her sons, Blaine and Robert by her side.

/Users/carolineblake/Desktop/DSCN1865 (2).JPG We had some lovely trips to a North Hollywood Jazz Club and at Wingo's painting studio in Eagle Rock with her dogs or Michael's dogs. She was a friend since the late 80s when she worked with us at Otis College of Art and Design in L.A. We lunched regularly at Ernie's Mexican Restaurant and shared confidences & humor. I am sharing Richard Wright's Haiku #313, done in Paris 1989 because McGinty would appreciate this farewell tribute. One, two, three stars Breed a whole sky of stars, Dyeing the night blue

A great lady. First knew her at Otis Art Institute , where she worked in the payroll section of the office. Emerson Woellfer the noted painter and I would sit in the quad at lunchtime and observe the passing scene. Whenever Frances walked by we admired her beauty and class. A handsome singular woman among the youth. We became friends...visited her wonderful Airedales at her home on MT. Washington. I remember the appropriately named Jasper. Later she would bring her dog(s) over to my hill and we would walk our dogs. She appreciated art and enjoyed visiting my studio--even purchasing a small painting. Frances got a big kick out of my Irish Terriers---she had a soft spot for animals. We stayed in touch when she moved north and then to NM. Always engaged in life. It was an honor knowing her.
