Ernie Weiss

My beloved Ernie passed away on Friday August 8, 2020. He is now reunited with his first love, wife Joy. We both had a second chance at finding love. 

Ernie had managed the Mission Hills Apartments and he would always mop the foyer floors. At that time, I was working as a Homesupport Worker and had a client in the apartment building. Of course, I was the one walking on his wet floors. One day he hid in the laundry room to see who was making those footprints on the floor. Busted ! Ernie invited me for coffee and our love blossomed.

We shared many interests such as gardening, going on road trips. Our best road trip was to Salt Spring Island. He loved it there. . We went on  cruises--Alaska a few times, California Coast..We travelled to England ( his home country), Vegas for  quick get aways. Hawaii,  Denmark and Scotland being the last country we visited.

Ernie was not one for trying something new, but with my encouragement he embraced it and had fun along the way. 

Ernies passion was playing golf. Wednesdays was the day the group would get together and play at various golf greens. You would have thought Ernie hit gold on Oct 22, 2018 . He got a hole in 1 on the 3rd hole at Cedar Ridge Golf Course. He was so proud and so happy. He recieved a nice plague with his name and date and what hole it was. I was ever so happy for him.

 Ernie was truly a one of a kind person. For the brief time we had with each other, life was good. He meant the world to me and I will miss you so much Ernie. 

I would say to him , I love you to the universe and back , he would say I love you more.
