September 21st, 1951 - May 18th, 2024
Edward Montoya, a resident of Santa Fe, NM, was called to his heavenly home on May 18, 2024. He was born on September 21, 1951, to Rev. Paul and Alice Montoya in Pueblo, CO. Ed was a man of faith who remained steadfast in his belief in the Lord Jesus. He demonstrated this through kindness, gentleness, and love for others. Many will remember Ed for how he loved to worship with his trumpet and beautiful voice.
After 40 years of service at Los Alamos National Laboratory, Ed retired and spent time doing things he enjoyed. He traveled abroad with his wife, went on mission trips, served in ministry at his church, and enjoyed the outdoors.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Montoya; son, Rodney Montoya (Rose); son, Daniel Montoya (Lizette); stepdaughter, Andrea Maestas; stepson Anthony Maestas; granddaughter, Delanie Lopez (Christian); granddaughter, Brianna Montoya; and grandson, Gabriel Montoya. Ed is also survived by his brother, Rick Montoya (Cherie); sister, Rosalie Mitchell; sister, Lillian Harris; stepfather, Guillermo Rael; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins whom he held close to his heart.
A celebration of life will be held June 5, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Freedom Church on 3732 Cerrillos Road in Santa Fe. He will be laid to rest at the Santa Fe Memorial Gardens in a private ceremony.

Hey sister and all of Ed's emediet family. Iam so so sorry for your loss. I was blessed to have him as a brother in-law. An awesome man of God. I don't remember him ever being upset, and had a god given talent when playing your trumpet. Your voice was like no other. So full of God. Thank you for the special times you shared with me. RIP my bro and may you fly high with the angels. Love you bro.
