Dearest Ed, So many shared memories. Our neighborhood 1955-1969: moonstroke, stargazing with your dad, Bart's Bookstore in Ojai, dancing and singing in the backyard, church, cruising Friday night in Ventura while listening to music and singing at the top of our lungs, computers in Oxnard, parties in the basement of your parents apartment in Ventura, Evergreen College in Washington, the BestMan at our wedding, visiting in Washington with the beautiful views. I'll love you always, Ed.

I used to joke with Ed about his big IQ being over-shadowed by what we called his EQ (emotional quotient). Whenever I needed advice, Ed gave it willingly and, with that big brain of his, was usually spot on. Whenever I needed support or comfort, Ed seemed to grow broader shoulders and bigger muscles so he could hold me up until I could stand alone. Whenever I became maudlin or overly stressed, Ed would have a joke or silly comment to make me laugh and see the bright side of things. I miss his brilliance, kindness, understanding, sense of humor and love.

Ed really loved his cats Alf and Zoey. He really missed them when they passed away over the last few years. He also adored his friends and maintained many connections, including some dating back to childhood.

Ed was more than a true friend; he was a partner in the journey of life. He was always a safe place to fall and shelter from the storm. I miss you man.
