"Manty, let's go on a date na girl! I feel like we haven't spent plenty time together lately" - those were the opening words of my last conversation with Uncle Derry. My response? "Pick a day and call me na uncle! We'll do something." If I'd known that less than 2 weeks later I'd be speaking of him in the past tense....I would've said let's go tomorrow. I can easily say that Uncle Derry was my favorite uncle. Having a conversation with him was so easy and came with no judgment, no matter what it was. He made me feel so special. Like I was his favorite niece. And I'm almost certain most of my cousins would say the same thing lol. His heart was so fun of love that flowed so freely. To anyone that needed it... I loved him deeply. The pain of losing him....it's almost crippling.
