January 30th, 2010

Cris Cordova, born in Montrose, Colorado and raised in Taos, New Mexico by his mother, Pauline Cordova and step-father, Santiago Jaime Chavez, departed this earth unexpectedly on January 30, 2010. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline and daughter, Maya as well as by his parents, Pauline Cordova (Tracy Sutherland) and Santiago Jaime Chavez and two siblings, Javier Chavez and Amanda Chavez Kupp (Nathan Kupp) and two step-siblings, Andrea and Diego Chavez-Arreola as well as his maternal grandparents, Filiberto and Elsie Cordova of Grand Junction, Colorado. Myriad uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends of Cris have gathered to celebrate his life in Taos. A man of many talents and lover of the outdoors, Cris will be missed but his memory will live in us, his family and friends. Rosary was recited in his memory on February 05, 2010 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Taos, NM. Funeral mass was held on February 06, 2010 at Our Lady Guadalupe Church. Reception followed immediately thereafter at the Quality Inn of Taos. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Antonya Maya Cordova Education Fund at Centinel Bank of Taos.
