I got to know Cho-Lun well during my time in Guangzhou. He was very smart and one of the hardest working people I ever met. He was also very gentle and kind outside of work; we shared a lot of laughs. I also recall how he talked about his family so lovingly. He is someone who left an impression on you for life. I am so sorry to hear of his passing and would like to express my sympathies to his family.

Dear Cho- Lun ( 親家公), I know that you are now resting peacefully in heaven. I want to thank you for giving us your wonderful daughter, Jane. She and Ted with two beautiful grand children Vivian and Ethan are growing happily in Denver, Colorado, USA. It was very nice that you and 親家母 together with Jane visited us in our new home in Danville, California during 2013 ( see the picture above) . Furthermore , when Haumei and I brought 36 people from United States to Taiwan for Ko – family reunion , you and 親家母 also joined us in Taipei. We really had a good time. Every one of the Ko’s appreciated it very much. Rest peacefully in God’s arm. Your In-Laws Daniel and Haumei Ko ( 柯耀宗,郭好美)
Roberto Coelho
Kay, This is Roberto Coelho, classmate and long time friend of Cho Lun. After graduation we spent many times together with him, in company of Kwai Ping and my wife Nanci, in Brazil, Pakistan and Argentina. We followed his last few years exchanging emails and were very sorry for his passing away. Unfortunately we will not be able to attend the funeral ceremonies but our thoughts and prayers will be with him. Accept our condolencies and, please, extend them to our dear Kwai Ping. Roberto and Nanci.

Deeply sorry to hear the sad news finally came. Please send our deep condolences to Jane, Kay and their families. As you may know Cho hired me into BNR in June 1984. We moved to Ottawa from Toronto and became Cho’s neighbor, our new house was opposite to theirs. Three girls Jane, Kay and Lydia walked to Carling every weekday morning to catch the school bus, even in -40c temperature. Summer time when they held BBQ party, they normally invited us. One year when KN went to Toronto for a week to see her father in hospital, KN prepared some dishes and we ate together at Cho’s home. One Christmas season, they were so nice to offer baby sitting Lydia, so we can have a break to watch a movie. After the successful Phoenix Project, Cho gave us some free miles so we two families can fly to Phoenix to attend Norte’s celebration, then drive to LV for vacation. One business trip to RTP, we both stayed in the same townhouse Nortel rented . I was not feeling well, Cho cooked noddles for me. Another trip to RTP, I went to visit Cho’s big house after work and on the way back I got lost and had to go to a hospital emergency to get help. When I was at Maidenhead, Cho’ s family came to visit us, this time I provided some free miles. Two families stay together and had fun to watch some ghosts movies in the evening. ( Wilkin and Yun also visited us once there, Once, Tony slept at our place from noon to late night - he was so exhausted, poor guy.) We both also attended some conferences and seminars in Beijing and Guangzhou. Last time we visited Cho and Kwai Ping was in 2017 during our final HK / Shanghai trip. Kwai Ping just recovered from her another treatment session so was able to come out for lunch. Iast November, I was chatting with Cho about searching for a senior home in HK similar to Opal style , there were no mentioning of any illness. In April I sent a WhatsApp message to congratulate his 80th birthday, he told me this surprise, so unbelievable. I alway respect him as my boss and admire his wisdom , he was also a good mentor . He did not smile much and talk much, but he was really a gentleman to people. At home party, he was the one prepare for the food and serving his guests at the party. In last few years earlier, we used to receive their CNY photo every year and always anticipated to receive one until last few years. Almost 40 years of friendship as boss, neighbor, colleague and friends. Ha will be in my heart and mind forever.
