BIOGRAPHY

CAMILO “MILLS” MARTINEZ

March 9, 1995 – May 25, 2024

It is with great sadness the family of Camilo “Mills” Martinez, Born March 1995, announces his passing at his family home in Santa Fe on Saturday May 25, 2024.  At the time of Camilo’s birth, he had a total of 13 living grandparents to include Great Grandparents and Great Great Grandparents. Camilo was so very talented, even as a child he enjoyed cooking, baking and art. He also loved science of every kind; he was always researching or examining things.  He most recently started a business making homemade candles and soaps with a little twist in each item to make them beautiful and interesting. Camilo was looking forward to obtaining his degree in phlebotomy. He attended Capitol High School in Santa Fe.

 We would like people to remember Camilo the way we knew him.  He was forgiving, loving, passionate, funny, bright, smart, had empathy for others, always giving, had positive things to say of others, would go out of his way to complement strangers and that smile… such a beautiful smile!!!

He is preceded in death by his Nano, Anthony Garcia, Grandpo, Chris Martinez, his Great Grandma Rita Garcia and Great Grandpa Gabriel Montano, Great Grandparents Camilo and Beneranda Sandoval, Great Grandparents Chano and Mary Martinez.  As a baby he and his Nano Anthony were inseparable until the passing of his Nano when Camilo was almost four. Camilo and his Grandpo Chris shared a special bond and Camilo consistently talked about that bond and the love he had for his Grandpo Chris.  They are now all three at rest together.

Survived by family who all loved him deeply; his Mama Vanessa Garcia, Father Jesse (Fran) Martinez, Brother Anthony Martinez, Nana Judith Flores, husband Ralph and Grandma Jenny Martinez, his Great Grandma Maria Montano and Great Grandfather Efren Garcia, Uncle Chris and Auntie Stacy Martinez, cousins Sierra and Kaleo, Auntie Stephanie and Uncle Angelo Otero, cousins Jacinta and Joziah, along with many Great Uncles, Great Aunts and many, many cousins and friends.

 His life will be celebrated on June 13, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the Rivera Family Funeral Home in their “Kiva”, 417 Rodeo Road, Santa Fe, NM  87505.  Burial to follow immediately in the Rivera’s Cemetery.  Meal will follow the burial to be held at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 833 Early Street, Santa Fe, NM 87505
