Bobby Joe was a first cousin and an inspiration in my life. I was a teenager when we visited Uncle Sam and Aunt May at their gas station outside of Paris Texas. He had to duck to get through the doorways. He was too young to get a job even though he had a college degree. I became an Electrical Engineer, BSEE 1975. I think he was in San Diego when i was working in LA.

Thank you for printing the obituary of Bobby Joe Morton in the Paris newspaper. Please accept my sincere condolences. He was my classmate at Paris High School and Paris Junior College. I would like to add that in 2003, Paris Junior College named Bobby Joe Morton an outstanding alumnus and inducted him into the Paris Junior College Hall of Honor. He was such an intelligent student. I will share his passing with my Paris High School Class of 1951 classmates. Eleanor Steelman Chapman

Bobby Joe Morton 1/22/36-8/6/20 Raised on a cotton farm in Texas, graduated HS at 15, Air Force, PhD in nuclear physics. Avid bridge player, news junkie, science fiction fan, and in his younger years, beach volleyball player. Taught me to ride a bike, tied my roller skates, made my lunch for me every day before school, a solid constant in my life. Thank you for always being there for us, you were a great dad. You are so loved and missed❤️

I’m sorry for your loss. I met Bobby when he moved back to Paris with his Mom in her last days. He bought a house up the street and was walking in the neighborhood and sometimes biking. I was in the yard one day and ask if he was new in the neighborhood. Come to find out his brother, Don Morton, was the Associate Pastor of my church, Ramseur Baptist here in Paris, TX. Cherish your memories.
