So very sad to hear of Barbara's passing. The attached photo is from Christmas Day 1980. It shows Barbara opening a present with Chuck in the background and Uncle David's profile at the far left. I spent many holidays with the Starretts in the 1979-1994 timeframe. Barbara always prepared delicious family meals including homemade Polish pierogies. I remember her enjoying working on the Sunday crossword puzzles with Uncle David, over the phone when he wasn't at their house. Barbara was always very welcoming and gracious to me. And she always made me feel at home although I remember her following me and offering a plate when I took a muffin off the kitchen counter and started to eat it as I headed toward the living room. Barbara also had a great sense of humor. While visiting there one Thanksgiving I mentioned I would be going to a nearby honor camp to visit a childhood friend who was incarcerated. Barbara prepared a meal for me to take to him and said while laughing, "Here's a 'prison plate' to take to your friend." She was still laughing about it later as we all were. To Barbara's family and friends, please accept my condolences as you all deal with the passing of your loved one. Respectfully, Jeremy Wilson

My family moved next door to Barb, Chuck, Laura, and Little David in Lancaster when I was 2 (about 63 years ago). So many of my childhood memories (and adult memories) revolve around the Starrett family. Barb was always sewing, cooking, cheering us on at swim meets, etc. I will always remember her wonderful smile and hearty laugh. I bet in Heaven right now my mom and Barb are sitting down having coffee together like they did years ago. Blessings to all of you!

Barbara was a ray of sunshine to me while I lived in California. Her family, Uncle Steve and Aunt Barbara and I spent quite a bit of time together celebrating holidays and life. Loved to hear about she and Charlie’s adventures with friends. Especially loved the story about their stint as pit crew members for their friend’s race car. See you in heaven cousin!!!
