2 de abril de 1951 - 19 de abril de 2021
It is with great sorrow and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Amado Navarro Lugtu on Monday, April 19, 2021 at 4:50 am from hemorrhagic stroke. Born on April 2, 1951 in San Fernando, Pampanga in the Philippines, Amado was a loving husband for 46 years to Remedios Labao Lugtu, a dedicated father to Arl Lugtu, Mabeth Lugtu and Rea Marie Lugtu and a caring and "super cool" grandfather to Triton Dominic Lugtu, Dylan Elijah Lugtu and Charlize Alana Lugtu. He was a loyal son to Catalino Mallari Lugtu (predeceased) and Marciana Navarro Lugtu (predeceased) and a wonderful brother to Virgilio Lugtu, Rose Lugtu, Helen Grace Lugtu Gonzales and her late husband Ernesto Gonzales and Amy Lugtu Fernandez and her husband Joel Fernandez. Amado was a kind, sweet, joyful, generous and caring man who touched the lives of everyone he met. He was a businessman and creative thinker who expressed himself through his writings and building things. He was a devout Christian. For many years, he was very involved in the Couples for Christ community. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and was a Eucharist Minister. Amado will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Lunchtime yesterday (midnight Pacific Asia time) a dear brother-in-law was laid to rest in a garden named Gethsemane...something meaningful to the Savior, His last moment with the Father before He would expire on the cross the next day... As we will miss Cong Mading, we too should see our own fate, our own frame, our own destiny and seek to answer honestly these questions: 1) Where am I going?... 2) Where do truly I want to go?... 3) How do I want to be in the end?... 4) How do I want to be known for after I am gone?... 5) What can I leave behind after all these things, after all these times of living on this earth?

So yah Uncle Mading, We do not have that much memories together, but the habit that I remember from you is when you always do acknowledge our needs even we do not ask for it and that is what I Love from you and the way you care for us. I really would miss you a lot. And now as you rest we would still remember the memories that we did build together. I Love you Uncle.
Rose Lugtu
So many adjectives to describe Cong Mading, jolly, friendly, kind, generous, sweet, creative, good speaker and writer, and good looking, especially when he was younger and many pounds lighter. Of course, he was from perfect, as he had his own flaws as well. He had always good words for people, especially his family. From his external countenance, you will never see him sad or worn down even in the face of problems and difficulties. Patience has always been a big virtue of Cong Mading, Imagine, commuting daily from his college (UE Recto) in Manila to San Fernando, Pampanga, and all via free pass from the LaMallorca/Pambusco bus company. Funny, that years later that bus company got bankrupt and closed down :) He was really patient and even passionate for things he loved doing. Whenever, he was with us, he loved sharing funny stories, anecdotes and experiences to our delight. And of course, he had always specific and properly labelled "pasalubongs" for all of us. These are only some of the things i will definitely miss from him. I will surely miss you Cong Mading, I love you Koya. Bye for now. Life is short and when my time comes, I will just see you in Heaven. In Jesus name, amen.

In Revelation 21:4, it says... "And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” Truly you are now exempted from all these Cong Mading, for you have gone ahead of us. We love you...See you at God's appointed time.
Helen Grace Lugtu-Gonzales
Cong Mading, thank you for all the good things you have done for me, especially for those times you helped me without the knowledge of everyone else. Thank you also for all those happy and funny moments you shared with the family. I will surely miss you. I love you koya.

Comforting words are needed in times like these... Ecclesiastes chapter 7 brings the words of the wisest man who has ever lived before the time of Jesus. He spoke words of wisdom about death and mourning... 1 A good name is better than a good ointment, And the day of one's death is better than the day of one's birth. 2 It is better to go to a house of mourning Than to go to a house of feasting, Because that is the end of every man, And the living takes it to heart. 3 Sorrow is better than laughter, For when a face is sad a heart may be happy. 4 The mind of the wise is in the house of mourning, While the mind of fools is in the house of pleasure. 5 It is better to listen to the rebuke of a wise man Than for one to listen to the song of fools. The wise sage is recommending the sober, earnest life... Wiser, more enduring lessons are to be learned where grief reigns than in the empty and momentary excitement of mirth and joyousness. The house in question is mourning for a death; it produces the growth in the mind sympathy, seriousness, and the need of preparation for death. The opposite side, the house of carousal, where all that is serious is put away, because it offers no wise teaching, and produces only selfishness, heartlessness, thoughtlessness. The surrender of the mind to the pleasures of the body will lead to tiredness and despair... but of the moderate enjoyment of the good things of life conditioned by the fear of God and love of one's neighbor gives more gain... Participation in reckless frivolity leads to dissipation of strength and health...
