Alda Wilmoth was born in Mt Airy, NC on Decemeber 18, 1951. She was the youngest daughter of tobacco planters and learned to drive a tractor before she could drive a car. This allowed her to teach all of her daughters the art of driving a shift-stick vehicle, something she was very proud of! She attended East Surry High School and received her teaching degree from Appalachian State University. She also obtained her Masters of Education in Instructional Techonology and an Educational Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction at Cambridge College. In 2019 she retired from the Columbia County Department of Education in Georgia as a Band Director. She loved her job and had the honor of teaching students from all across the country for over 30+ years. Many of her students called her "Mom" and she continued to stay in touch with many of them after they left her tuteledge. She served her country for several years in the Navy Reserves, and was a lover of music, movies, animals, quilting, geneaology, history, arts and crafts, peanut butter and the Lord. She had a green-thumb and could bring any plant back to life. She never met a stranger and was always willing to help someone in need. She loved unconditionally and without fault.
She will be greatly missed by all, but she is no longer suffering.
The Celebration of Life for our mother will be held on Saturday, May 4th from 2-4pm. It will be held at Good News Church located at 400 Warren Rd Augusta Ga 30907.

Words can not express how much you will be missed! Rest easy knowing you raised 4 amazing daughters! You were so loved! My only regret is that I didn't get to say goodbye! Give my mama a kiss and enjoy a Margarita or three! I love you always!
