The world is a sadder place with out Al. God looked around His gardenAnd found an empty place. He then looked down upon the earthAnd saw your tired face.He put his arms around youAnd lifted you to rest.God’s garden must be beautifulHe always takes the best.He saw the road was getting roughAnd the hills were hard to climb,So He closed your weary eyelidsAnd whispered "Peace be thine".It broke our hearts to lose youBut you didn’t go alone,For part of us went with youThe day God called you home. A great sadness over whelms me with his passing, and it leaves me even sadder that his life is summed up in a one line blurb. To be quickly forgotten in a discarded news paper some where. For the legacy that he left is far greater than that and the impact he had on others even greater. He was both teacher, and friend, quick tempered, yet forgiving and generous to a fault. Every child growing up needs a hero to emulate and learn those values that our parents can not instill in us. Simply because we think we know more than them, and we are out to prove ourselves to them. Albert was my hero in life and whom I most wanted to be like when I grew up. The values that he instilled are still in practice to this day in my life, and will be taught to my children. It is my fondest hope that my children will be able to find a hero like him. To help shape their lives, and pick up on what I can not teach them. Yet some how I think this will not happen for he was the last of a generation, a man among men. There is not much left for me to say, and little I can do except share this piece of wisdom that he gave to me with you. When it seems there is no grass to feel under foot , the fires have burned and skies have wept. There are no shattered bones of love and hope, or violated dreams to feed the soul with promises un kept. This is only a desperate act of whispered loneliness, a man will know always the rainbows hue. And not a beaten image, shade's of Grey stained black when time has passed by you. I think now there are no words left unspoken, exchanged or borrowed, so be graceful in your weeping . And gentle with your caress when memories frail skeleton is entrusted to your keeping. Make it more than just a forgotten single line, or cipher, remeber a hero is not gone just merely sleeping.

Al was one of a kind. I remember as a child visiting the ranch and how he always took the time to show me all the books at the ranch, or to find a new puzzle for me to play with. Any time I visited the ranch Al always made time to visit with me and make me smile, and take me to visit the coyotes or the ranches horses. DH Lawernce Ranch will not be the same without him, he was the biggest part of what made the Ranch special. He always had a story to tell, its a shame that his stories cant go on forever. There is a sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than 10,000 tongues. They are the messengers of overwhelming grief, of deep contrition, and of unspeakable love."

It is not the number of people that remember you, it is the size and the number of their memories. God Bless you Uncle Albert
