Loved Ones

Adam Matthew Swann, age 37, of Burke, Virginia and Martinsburg, WV passed away on Sunday, 28 June 2020 after a volatile battle with alcoholism. Growing up, Adam was a shining light of steadfastness, he was everyone's best friend, partner in crime, silly instigator, and fearless curator of life's adventures. Adam loved deeply despite living a very hurtful and tough life made even more tragic by the loss of his mother in 2012. May he finally find a sense of peace and comfort in the company of those who have passed before him. He is survived by only his sister, Sarah Joan Swann. Adam also leaves behind many grief stricken extended family members, and many friends. All of which will undoubtedly remember him always and forever.

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, there will not be an in-person Memorial event as we are all doing our part to protect our elderly, and curb the spread. It would mean the world to Adam's family if his friends and loved ones would share a personal memory with him, or photos of your time with him, here on this memorial site.

From our family to yours, thank you for being a part of our lives. ~ Sarah Joan Swann, sister

I can not even count how many fond memories I have of my cousin Adam. As a child I spent a lot time at my Aunt Debbie’s (who I absolutely adored) house which I was always excited too, because that meant I got to hang out with my older cousins Sarah and Adam, and I remember loving ever minute of it. To Adam and Sarah I was always there little cousin but to me they were someone to look up too, they took me on adventures, kept me entertained, taught me what honeysuckles were and even found me when I wonder off in the woods. Lol. I was kind of an absentminded child. However, what I remember was how much I loved Adam and how much it meant to me to be his cousin. As we got older I was looked forward to family event where my cool cousins Adam and Sarah were going too come, especially when Adam would cook a dish to bring, he had an amazing gift when it came to the culinary arts. I always love catching up them and admired Adam so much. I wish so much that he was still here and I could have spent more time with him, but, I hope he has found his happiness and I’m comforted to know that he is with my Aunt Debbie. I love you my cousin.

We always enjoyed talking with him at The Ladder House. He loved those little cuties in the Secrets of the Forest slot machine. :) May he find the peace in the next realm that he couldn't find in this one. It won't be the same without him.

So many endless memories of him. My right hand and sometimes more like my left. He would have laughed at that. Our car rides to the store when I was able to leave work behind and just be his friend. We laughed with our faces to the windshield sometimes! I miss my little big buddy. I’m glad you can kick your feet up now.

Only met Adam 2 times that I can remember. But I remember he was always polite to me considering I dated his big sister a few times lol. I remember he always had a goofy smile when he said hi.
