Teresa Margarita Weston

Teresa Margarita Montoya Weston passed away on Wednesday, July 25 in Albuquerque, New Mexico at the age of 91. Teresa was born to Emelia Montoya on February 8, 1928 and was the youngest of five girls.  Teresa graduated from Taos High School then left to Chicago, Illinois to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse. After nursing school she returned to Taos to work at Holy Cross hospital for a short time. She then followed a cousin out to California and worked as a nurse at St John's Hospital in Santa Monica and later was a clinic coordinator at UCLA Medical Center. She lived in Santa Monica for a number of years until she met the love of her life. She married Ragan (Max) Weston in 1975 and lived in Long Beach California until she and Ragan returned to Taos to be with family in 1989. Teresa was a passionate volunteer, she volunteered at Holy Cross Hospital and Taos Living Center for many years in many different capacities. She was also a member of Las Taoseñas for many years. Having never had children of her own, Teresa was always a willing baby sitter to her many nieces and nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her husband Ragan Weston, her mother, Emelia Montoya, sisters Eulalia, Martina, Rosa, and Inez and nephew Reuben Martinez. She is survived by her nephews Larry Martinez, Miguel Martinez, (Rita) Anthony Ortega, (Debbie) Robert Ortega, and nieces Sylvia Grycner, (Greg) and Lucia Archuleta along with many great nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

Rosary will be held Friday, August 2, 2019 at 9 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Taos, New Mexico. Funeral mass will follow at 10 AM. Interment will be held at Las Cruces Cemetery.   Arrangements by Rivera Funeral Home, Taos.  To share a memory please visit our website at riverafuneralhome.com
