Linda Hughes

September 12th, 1970 - November 1st, 2013

Always In Our Thoughts, Forever In Our Hearts.

Biography

Linda Hughes was born on September 12, 1970, in the vibrant city of Chicago, Illinois. She was a kind-hearted soul who always had a smile on her face and a willingness to help others in need. Her favorite saying, "It is nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice," truly embodied the essence of her personality.

She completed her high school education at Chicago High from 1982 to 1988. In 1992, she welcomed her loving son Jeffrey into the world, followed by the birth of her beautiful daughter Sara in 1996. Her love for her family was boundless, and her children served as her motivation to excel in her career.

Linda took her passion for caring for others and pursued a Nursing Diploma at North Western College from 1999 to 2000. She went on to work as a nurse at Chicago General from 2001 to 2011, where she touched countless lives with her compassion and expert care. Her dedication to her profession earned her the title of Nurse of the Month in 2005.

Her love for nursing was just one of her many interests. Linda also found solace in the outdoors, where she enjoyed hiking and exploring nature's wonders. When she wasn't out in the wilderness, she could be found at home crocheting beautiful pieces for her loved ones.

In 2010, Linda was diagnosed with breast cancer. She fought bravely against the disease, never losing her warmth and optimism. Sadly, she passed away peacefully on November 1, 2013.

Today, we celebrate Linda Hughes' life, her achievements, and the countless lives she touched with her unwavering kindness and devotion to her family, friends, and patients. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her, and she will always be remembered as a beacon of light in the lives of her loved ones.

We are all but travelers, passing through this world. One door closes, another one opens. One chapter ends, another one begins. On this side of the curtain we only see death, but on the other side, behind the scenes, there is an abundance of Life. Unimaginable beauty. Rejoice in that thought, God is just on the other side of the curtain, waiting for us all to come Home to Him.

It has been 7 years since we lost you, yet it feels like yesterday. You are in our hearts and our minds all the time. Sara is in college and doing well - studying nursing just like you. You would be so proud of her.
She rescued a new dog- his name is Jake. He is a big and fluffy husky. You would HATE all of his shedding, but he has brought so much joy into our lives.
We love you. Always and Forever.
We will see you in heaven.
