Lubbers, James (Jim) Henry, age 77, of Hamilton departed this earth Wednesday, March 2, 2022. Jim grew up in Hamilton, Ohio and graduated from Hamilton Catholic High School. Shortly after graduation, Jim enlisted into the U.S. Air Force where he was trained in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC). He served during the Vietnam War in Thailand and upon completion of his service continued his work in the HVAC field where he was recognized as an expert. He retired from Procter & Gamble in 1999, but continued serving friends and family through his business, Lubbers HVAC. He was a longtime member and officer in the Cincinnati Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES).
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary (Kraft) Lubbers, his daughters Carol (Alejandro) Lucio, Beth (John) Wolfford, and his adored grandchildren, Jenna, Connor, and Ben Wolfford as well as his siblings and in-laws (outlaws), many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Ed and Mary (Amiot) Lubbers, his father-in-law, William (Bill) Kraft, and his “baby brother” Charlie Lubbers, nephews Bobby Lubbers and Craig Shannon, and sisters-in-law Laurie Lubbers and Nancy Kraft.
Jim was an active member of Durwin-Schantz American Legion Post 138 in Hamilton where he made numerous contributions and served many in the community along with Mary. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. His life of service included being a regular blood donor until he was unable to give. His final act of service was as an organ and tissue donor. A celebration of life open house will be held for close friends and family at the home of Jim and Mary on March 13.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to: Durwin-Schantz American Legion Post #138, 427 S. 3rd St., Hamilton, OH 45011 to help them in their goal of honoring and providing support to all our veterans and their families. Additional donations can be made in his honor to Hoxworth Blood Center and the LifeCenter Organ Donor Network.
